The Southern Movement Assembly Freedom & Survival School Work Team members are presenting The SMA Freedom & Survival Study Hall Series! Following the Call on Rising Fascism in the South and Global Solidarity in Resistance, organizers proclaimed the need to dig deeper into the recent release of Project 2025, a presidential agenda created by conservatives. This round table style study hall will discuss the Who, What, and How this Project has come to surface and will set us up for Part II discussing grassroots strategies to defend our ground.

The Southern Movement Assembly Freedom & Survival Study Halls serve to support the learning and sharing of ongoing political education through the expansion of political framings offered from the Regional Monthly Calls. These 90 minute political education sessions are grounded in the history of Southern Black Freedom Schools and Indigenous Movement Schools built as resistance to the erasure of language and culture, Freedom & Survival Study Halls will provide a variety of political education and hard skills to increase our capacity to Resist and Build on multiple frontlines. Topics of study include but are not limited to participatory defense, financial literacy, land stewardship, violence interruption, medics and healthcare, crisis counseling, and ongoing relationship building as laid out in the SMA Multi Year Action Plan.
