The EEOC is seeking to overturn rules created decades ago to tackle discrimination in employment. The Trump administration says those rules have led to more discrimination —against white people.

We learned today that ICE stated that they will not be at the Allstate Continental Clásico game this coming Sunday, May 31.

Thank you to all the organizations that joined .nc this week, in putting out a firm statement in defense of our community!

Thank you for reaffirming your commitment to no collaboration with ICE and CBP. Thank you for stating that you will be at the game to keep the community safe and looking out for any breaches of the peace.

The community PACKED OUT Cumberland County’s data center moratorium public hearing last night! 👏 Let’s do it again June 1 at City Of Fayetteville’s public comment: Tell Fayetteville City Council: Data Center Moratorium NOW! We did this in May too but we NEED NEW FACES to show up and speak 🗣️ Bring a friend or two!

WHY? On April 27, Fayetteville City Council passed a 4 month delay on passing on a data center moratorium. This STILL ALLOWS data center developers to submit permits. It is NOT A PAUSE! It is NOT a moratorium. We suspect there’s something deeper going on that is not yet public…last night the County confirmed no data center permits have been submitted for unincorporated land in their jurisdiction. But the City has not confirmed that (at least to our knowledge, but please correct us).

Here’s who voted in favor of this: Mayor Colvin & Councilmembers Derrick Thompson, Malik Davis, Deno Hondros, Brenda McNair, Stephon Ferguson). THEY have left our community UNPROTECTED!

Join us on Monday, May 18 to Tell Cumberland County: MORATORIUM NOW!

Our data center toolkit makes it easy to sign up to speak, contact your local officials, and learn more about how data centers are negatively effecting communities across the country. In NC, data centers are continue to guzzle water while cities are placing restrictions on water usage during a historic extreme drought. Duke Energy is making record profits, while increasing our electricity bills to pay for building infrastructure for data centers.

If you are concerned about data centers, please attend the public hearing on Monday, May 18. Details on the flyer. Tap o...
