When we’re walking in purpose and doing our best,
living and loving the way God directs,
our courage may trouble the ones standing by …
but we can’t dim our light just to keep others satisfied.

Let the world look on and do what it may,
let their chatter fade out at the end of the day.
Let’s live for the One whose love holds us close …
the only true gaze that matters the most.

New year to begin again.
New mercy and forgiven of sin.
SAME GOD to change me within.

New month to begin again.
New grace for all women and men.
SAME GOD who knows where I’ve been.

New day to begin again.
New hope for the world we’re in.
SAME GOD … will always win.

The holidays flowed sweetly like joyful, gentle swirls.
My grandkids were home from school,
so I spent time with my sweet boy and girls.

But breaks don’t last forever, and life eases back to pace.
Still peace walks on before us, leaving footprints full of grace.

As the monks keep moving forward, their quiet steps release…
a reminder that we’re all blessed,
and we can each sow our piece of peace.

So with love still in the air and purpose clear this year,
let’s FLOW into the new year with faith instead of fear.

I read John 12 and had to pause,
because sometimes worship breaks unwritten laws.
Mary showed up with a jar and a plan,
and said, “I’ll honor Jesus however I can.”
Pouring out perfume, wiping feet with her hair…
folk stared, whispered, judged… but she didn’t care.
You know why?
Because when you’ve lived through what she overcame,
you don’t mind being bold in Jesus’ name.

The crowd was loud when He rode that donkey in,
but their praise was shallow, just noise in the wind.
They wanted a king who’d fix things their way,
not One who saves souls and teaches us how to pray.
And I felt that…
because sometimes we want God on our terms,
while He’s out here planting seeds we didn’t expect to germ.

Then Jesus spoke about dying so others can live…
about real surrender, the kind where you give…
the part of your heart you’ve kept locked away.
The part He’s been nudging you to trust Him with today.
And I said, “Lord, help me release what holds me,
bury what binds me,
and trust that what dies
will rise…
holy.”

But then the chapter shifts…
folk believing in silence, afraid to be seen,
choosing man’s approval over the God who redeems.
And I whispered to myself,
“Pam, don’t you shrink.
Don’t dim your light for what people might think.”

Because Jesus ends the chapter like a holy refrain:
“I came as the Light - walk with Me, stay in My name.”
And it hit me clear as the morning rays…
life is lighter, brighter, stronger
when I trust God’s ways.

So here’s my takeaway, and maybe it’s yours too:
Worship anyway.
Serve anyway.
Walk in the Light even on days that feel gray.
Pour out your best, even when it feels small.
Trust God’s plan when it doesn’t match yours at all.
Give Him your fear,
your hopes,
your dreams,
your yes…
because everything surrendered
comes back
blessed.

And like that grain of wheat He talked about…
the one that has to fall,
the one that has to break…
remember:
sometimes God grows you
through what He asks you
to let go
for His sake.

So I’m walking this chapter out,
with faith as my stance,
my heart in His hands,
and my worship
on display.

Not for applause.
But because He’s worthy.
Every day.

I pulled out my shirts from way back when,
’83 feels like yesterday again.
From Lackland to Keesler, then Plattsburgh’s cold air,
each base held lessons, discipline, and care.

I can’t fit the clothes - the years made that clear,
but what they represent still fits me right here.
Courage, commitment, service, and pride,
values the Lord has kept burning inside.

Years of honorable service, a calling, a start,
that shaped how I live and the work of my heart.
The uniform’s gone, but its message remains.
To serve with love through life’s joys and pains.

So on this day, I pause and pray,
for all who have served and still serve today.
May God bless your journey, your courage, your fight,
and cover you daily in His strength and His light.

It’s true - it’s chilly out,
It’s true - I’m not feeling my best today, no doubt.
It’s true - my ballot is a voice,
so I showed up, because leadership is a choice.

Every vote counts, and each moment we stand,
for the places we live, love, and hold in our hands.
Community matters, and that’s how leaders rise.
Try … make a way to the polls is what I advise.
