I read John 12 and had to pause,
because sometimes worship breaks unwritten laws.
Mary showed up with a jar and a plan,
and said, “I’ll honor Jesus however I can.”
Pouring out perfume, wiping feet with her hair…
folk stared, whispered, judged… but she didn’t care.
You know why?
Because when you’ve lived through what she overcame,
you don’t mind being bold in Jesus’ name.
The crowd was loud when He rode that donkey in,
but their praise was shallow, just noise in the wind.
They wanted a king who’d fix things their way,
not One who saves souls and teaches us how to pray.
And I felt that…
because sometimes we want God on our terms,
while He’s out here planting seeds we didn’t expect to germ.
Then Jesus spoke about dying so others can live…
about real surrender, the kind where you give…
the part of your heart you’ve kept locked away.
The part He’s been nudging you to trust Him with today.
And I said, “Lord, help me release what holds me,
bury what binds me,
and trust that what dies
will rise…
holy.”
But then the chapter shifts…
folk believing in silence, afraid to be seen,
choosing man’s approval over the God who redeems.
And I whispered to myself,
“Pam, don’t you shrink.
Don’t dim your light for what people might think.”
Because Jesus ends the chapter like a holy refrain:
“I came as the Light - walk with Me, stay in My name.”
And it hit me clear as the morning rays…
life is lighter, brighter, stronger
when I trust God’s ways.
So here’s my takeaway, and maybe it’s yours too:
Worship anyway.
Serve anyway.
Walk in the Light even on days that feel gray.
Pour out your best, even when it feels small.
Trust God’s plan when it doesn’t match yours at all.
Give Him your fear,
your hopes,
your dreams,
your yes…
because everything surrendered
comes back
blessed.
And like that grain of wheat He talked about…
the one that has to fall,
the one that has to break…
remember:
sometimes God grows you
through what He asks you
to let go
for His sake.
So I’m walking this chapter out,
with faith as my stance,
my heart in His hands,
and my worship
on display.
Not for applause.
But because He’s worthy.
Every day.
In His Love,
THE FLOW BOSS♥️
