Just an FYI to everyone planning to come to Music on the Patio this Friday, September 18, 2026, the music will be inside the Lake View Cafe due to the predicted heat. The performers, Michael Brewer and J.T.Knoll have asked to perform inside where it will be cooler. So, come early and get a place to sit. Lisa and crew will make the seating as comfortable as possible. Hope to see you there. It'll be a fun evening of music and comedy.

The Lake View Cafe will be closing at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday for the last two weeks of this season. Normal hours will be in place for Friday through Sunday. The final day for the Lake View Cafe for the 2026 season is Sunday, September 27. Come and enjoy some great food as they close out the 2026 season and remember... early closing on Wednesday and Thursday.

Should be a fun day at the park!

I am STOKED for tomorrow! It is our Biioblitz at Crawford State Park in Farlington Kansas. And although I do “geek out” a bit on finding plants, insects, mammals, etc (never the snakes though) I get to help present, and also participate in the Bioblitz.

But…the one thing that makes this the BEST day, is that it is at the park where I was the naturalist at 32 years ago. I miss those days terribly and some days, I wish I would have never let someone talk me out of chasing that dream. But tomorrow, I get to relive a little of it. And I plan to walk the trail again where this picture was taken 32 years ago.

So if you are free, come to the park and visit with me, the other great vendors and take a walk in nature. (I believe it goes from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.)

Your soul will thank you for it! ❤️
