One final milestone before heading home... every Scout boarded the airplane showered, in a clean uniform, and ready for the trip home.

Before our flight, we stopped at a hotel for a couple of hours. It gave everyone the opportunity to shower, change into a clean uniform, repack their gear, and arrive at the airport refreshed. While two of the adult leaders laundered and dried uniforms, the rest of the leadership helped make sure every Scout was ready to travel.

After an unforgettable adventure at the 2026 National Jamboree, our Northern Lights Council contingent is officially on the way home. What an incredible experience it has been!

The first bus carrying the Northern Lights Council rolled out of D3 Subcamp this morning.

With that departure, our 2026 National Jamboree adventure has officially come to an end.

Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible. Our Scouts and leaders are heading home with new skills, stronger friendships, unforgettable memories, and stories that will be shared for years to come.

That looks like a five-lined skink, likely a juvenile or young adult. The bright blue tail is a classic clue.

Given the blue tail and the setting, it is most likely an Eastern five-lined skink (Plestiodon fasciatus) or a closely related five-lined skink species.

The bright blue tail is especially characteristic of young skinks. As they mature, the blue usually fades, particularly in males.

A rainbow over camp as we prepare to wrap up the 2026 National Jamboree. 🌈

After the rain, the challenges, the adventures, and so many memories, it felt like the perfect reminder of today's reflection: A Legacy of Light.

We are the stewards of the light passed down to us. Now it's our turn to carry it forward and be a light for others.

The campsite is definitely becoming more organized. The Scouts are taking ownership of their responsibilities, and there has been very little horseplay. It's great to see everyone settling into the rhythm of Jamboree life.

About 55% of our Scouts headed out this morning for whitewater rafting. The rest of us will spend the day exploring the many program areas here at the 2026 National Jamboree. One highlight for several of our Scouts will be attending a keynote session with six-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion Mark Allen, who will share leadership lessons from his life and career.

As for the adults... let's just say some of them are on a very important mission to locate the famous malt shop!

And, of course, our daily routine includes a few bandage changes. Around here, that usually means a scrape or two from trying something new. The bumps and bruises are minor, but they're a reminder that our Scouts are getting out of their comfort zones, learning new skills, and embracing every adventure the 2026 National Jamboree has to offer.

This morning started early!

🥣 5:30 a.m. – Scouts grabbed breakfast.
🚶‍♂️ 6:00 a.m. – Scoutmaster rolled out of bed (and yes... it smelled like a cow pasture this morning!).
🍳 7:00 a.m. – Breakfast was served in camp.
🥪 7:45 a.m. – Lunch was packed.
🧹 8:00 a.m. – Latrine duty.
🤝 8:30 a.m. – SPL/Scoutmaster conference
🏕️ 8:45 a.m. – Camp dismissed for the day's adventures.

Lately we've noticed we've lost a little momentum. Some camp chores have gone unfinished, and a few Scouts have headed off to activities before their responsibilities were complete. In Scouting America, this is part of the storming stage of team development. It's when boundaries are tested and expectations become clearer.

The clean trash can in today's photo is a reminder that success starts with taking care of the little things. Camp doesn't run because of one person—it runs because everyone does their part before heading off to the fun.
