Nerd Nite Fargo

Nerd Nite Fargo Drinking + Learning! $10. Open to the Public. Ages 21+. Third Thursdays Monthly @ 7:00PM. Fun, right?

We all know that learning is more fun when you’re drinking with friends and colleagues. Thus, Nerd Nite is a monthly event held in more than 100 cities across the globe during which several folks give 18-21-minute fun-yet-informative presentations across all disciplines – while the audience drinks along. And there are often bands, acrobats, trivia, and other shenanigans as well. Imagine learning a

bout everything from math feuds or the science of the Simpsons, to the genealogy of Godzilla or zombie insects, while having a few or a few too many.

Every day is Earth Day when you’re a filthy hippie like me, so please excuse the lateness of this post. 😂 There’s a lot you can do for our planet by NOT doing things, including eliminating (or cutting down on) unnecessary lighting, particularly outdoors and particularly at this time of year. Little efforts add up when we all make them. ☺️✌️🌎

Our feathered friends are on the move tonight! Spring migration is underway for hundreds of millions of birds and tonight is forecasted to be a major migration event along the entire Mississippi River Flyway, including around Minneapolis.

Most song birds migrate at night, when it is dark, or when darkness would be expected if it weren't for all of these lights we have on at night around town!

An easy and impactful way to help birds successfully navigate through our urban skies tonight and in the coming days is to turn off your lights! Turn off the lights around your home where you live, outside lights are particularly important.

Bird populations around the world have plummeted in the last few decades, what a great Earth Day activity to turn off your lights at night tonight to help many more survive this incredible flight to find nesting and breeding habitat for the season.

Happy Hump Day, nerds! Thanks so much to everyone that came out to our show last week, to our wonderful speakers Clare, Amber and Mason for donating their time and expertise, and our fantastic venue Front Street Taproom for once again enabling our shenanigans.

Our next show will be Thursday, May 21st, same time, same place, and it'll be our last show before break, so mark your calendar to top up your nerdy tank for summer. Tickets will go on sale soon.

See you there. 🤓🍻

Uffda what a show- I've got to start having more than beer and cereal for dinner. 🥴😂 Thanks again to our speakers, our wonderful venue Front Street Taproom, and everyone who came out to enjoy our 6th to last show. 🥹 Our next show will be Thursday April 16th, 7PM, same place- tickets will be on sale soon.

See your fabulous faces there.

Jason was also a regular NN attendee back in the day. Swing by Paradox March 14 or 16 to celebrate him.

Every month, our gamers gather for Tabletop Night and March is no different. We’re planning our second Saturday game night with lots of fun and joy from free pie to a Trivial Pursuit tournament to games with pies and all the expected companionship. But we’re also honoring our friend and fellow gamer who passed away last fall. The family created this wonderful memorial and Paradox comics-N-Cards is honored to host it.

Toys as Art: A Celebration of the Photography of Jason Kropp

Saturday, March 14-Monday, March 16, 2026

Opening reception on Saturday from 5-10 p.m.

Jason spent countless nights at our table as a friend and longtime member of Paradox gaming family. He was part of the fabric of this place. His creativity and presence mattered, and this is our chance to share his work and remember him together.

Through his photography, Jason sought to bring more play and joy into the real world by highlighting toys in wide range of adventures, from a grand battle over Paradox itself to the exhibit halls of the Louvre.

If you knew Jason, we hope you'll come. If you didn't, we still hope you'll come. This is what community is.

Many of the works will also be available for purchase. Cash only.

Couldn’t put it any better. We’ll have more announcements and Tabletop Night is going to be full of laughter because Jason shouldn’t be celebrated in any other way than with joy and friendships. Please mark your calendars for this one and join us to remember and also make new memories.

Miss ya, big man, dearly.

What a fabulous kickoff to 2026! Thanks so much speakers Steven, Darrell, and Jamie for donating your time and expertise to our show, and of course our wonderful venue Front Street Taproom and everyone who came out- I hope you all had a wonderful time. Our next show will be Thursday February 19th, 7PM, same place- tickets will go on sale shortly.

We also made a bit of a sad announcement last week- after 10+ years and 80+ shows, Fargo Nerd Nite is coming to an end. 😢. The bosses are getting older and our lives are going in different directions- rather than let the show fizzle into mediocrity and death, we're going to go out on our terms, on a high note, in a good place. Our 2026 shows will proceed as scheduled, but unless we can find someone to carry the torch, Nov 19th 2026 will be the last Fargo Nerd Nite ever.

If you're interested in becoming a Nerd Boss and inheriting this circus, shoot us a message. We'd love to make this an 'Until Next Time' instead of a goodbye.

Thanks Nerds. See you soon. :)
