🚨 The hardest words in rescue are: "I'm sorry, we don't have room."
Every empty kennel in our future shelter already has a name.
Not because it's built.
Because the need already exists.
Right now there are dogs sleeping under abandoned houses, hiding in brush, wandering highways, giving birth in ditches, and waiting in overcrowded shelters with nowhere to go.
Some will never make it.
Not because they are aggressive.
Not because they are sick.
Not because they are unwanted.
But because there simply isn't a safe place for them to wait.
When people hear "animal shelter," they picture a building.
I picture dogs like Tillie and Mae.
I picture frightened dogs dumped on county roads.
I picture puppies who need a safe place to grow.
I picture the phone calls that come in every week asking for help when there is nowhere left to place another animal.
Our shelter is not about concrete, fencing, or kennels.
It is about creating a safe haven where animals can heal, decompress, receive medical care, and wait for the families they deserve.
