On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to all who have served—and to the remarkable women veterans whose courage, leadership, and dedication broke barriers across generations.
The Hall is proud to honor these inductees whose service continues to inspire:
⭐ Retired Air Force Colonel Nicole Malachowski — First woman pilot selected to fly with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
⭐ Colonel Oveta Culp Hobby, U.S. Army — First woman to receive the rank of colonel and founding commander of the Women’s Army Corps.
⭐ Lieutenant Colonel Jacqueline Cochran, U.S. Air Force Reserve — Director of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP).
⭐ Dorothea Dix, Superintendent of Army Nurses — Led the first formal corps of female nurses during the Civil War.
⭐ Colonel Mary Hallaren, U.S. Army — Director of the Women’s Army Corps following World War II.
⭐ Clara Barton, U.S. Civil War Nurse — Founder of the American Red Cross.
⭐ Major General Jeanne Holm, U.S. Air Force — First woman promoted to general officer rank in the Air Force.
⭐ Dr. Mary Edwards Walker, U.S. Army Surgeon — Civil War field surgeon and first woman to receive the Medal of Honor.
⭐ Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, U.S. Navy — First woman to hold the rank of rear admiral; computer science pioneer.
⭐ Lieutenant General Carol A. Mutter, U.S. Marine Corps — First woman in the Marine Corps promoted to three-star rank.
