Rocky Mountain Mustang Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. But what does that actually mean?
A 501(c)(3) designation is a status granted by the IRS to charitable organizations. It means that RMMR operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, rather than for profit. Any funds raised go directly back into caring for the horses and burros, which includes feed, veterinary & farrier care, facility maintenance, and training.
As a public nonprofit, RMMR relies on community support to provide the daily essentials and long-term care our animals need. We do not operate to generate profit, and we depend on donations, sponsorships, grants, and fundraising efforts to continue our mission.
Another important benefit? Your donations are tax-deductible. When you give to RMMR, you’re not only helping provide second chances for mustangs and burros, you may also be eligible for a charitable tax deduction.
There are many ways to support our herd, and in the coming posts, we’ll be sharing all the ways you can get involved and make a difference!
