In Kind Donations!

In-kind donations refer to non-monetary contributions of goods, services, or resources provided to support our mission. These can include items like hay, grooming/training tools, equipment, or professional expertise, such as legal or marketing services. Unlike cash donations, in-kind gifts offer tangible support that directly benefits our programs and reduces operational costs. We gratefully accept in-kind donations to help us continue making a difference.

Sponsor a Mustang!

RMMR is funded solely on donations from our generous supporters. Those who choose to join our sponsorship program help us provide the essential care our herd of Mustangs. It costs the refuge $300/month per animal to provide the basics of hay/water and routine vet/farrier care.

Donate today!

Caring for and providing training to a herd of Mustangs is truly a full-time commitment. With that dedication comes a wide range of expenses from hay to veterinary and farrier care, from maintaining equipment to ensuring the roads are plowed and accessible year-round. There is always something that needs attention at the refuge.

Your donation, no matter the size, makes a direct impact. There is the ability to support the refuge with a one time donation as well as a recurring donation. Even $5 a month adds up throughout the year!Your donation allows us to provide exceptional daily care to the equines who call the refuge home and helps us continue spreading awareness about the wild Mustangs that still roam our western states.

Every contribution supports their well-being, training, and second chances.

Rocky Mountain Mustang Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. But what does that actually mean?

A 501(c)(3) designation is a status granted by the IRS to charitable organizations. It means that RMMR operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, rather than for profit. Any funds raised go directly back into caring for the horses and burros, which includes feed, veterinary & farrier care, facility maintenance, and training.

As a public nonprofit, RMMR relies on community support to provide the daily essentials and long-term care our animals need. We do not operate to generate profit, and we depend on donations, sponsorships, grants, and fundraising efforts to continue our mission.

Another important benefit? Your donations are tax-deductible. When you give to RMMR, you’re not only helping provide second chances for mustangs and burros, you may also be eligible for a charitable tax deduction.

There are many ways to support our herd, and in the coming posts, we’ll be sharing all the ways you can get involved and make a difference!

🚜 Fresh hay delivery just rolled in! 🚜
Another load of big square bales stacked and ready for the herd. Our herd eat from these 3x4x8 (1,000lb monsters) 365 days a year, rain or shine (mostly shine).

We are grateful for good local suppliers who keep our Mustangs fed, but hay is one of our largest expenses. Each bale can run upwards of $200 depending on supply and availability.

MEET THE TEAM TUESDAY ☀️
Weekend Care Specialist: Ella

Ella is a behind-the-scenes team member you may not see often, but she is just as essential as everyone else. On weekends, Ella takes care of chores to ensure our Mustangs and Burros have everything they need while the rest of our team gets some well-deserved R&R.

An avid horsewoman, Ella plays a key role in keeping our herd happy and well cared for. When she’s not supporting our directors and the refuge, she runs her own trail riding business right next door! If you’re looking to experience the beautiful Colorado mountains on horseback, be sure to check out Red Valley Rebels and book a ride with Ella 🐴
