What a full and meaningful evening it was — one that stretched late into the night, but was filled with purpose, generosity, and support for the future of the wild turkey —and for those who may not have gone home with a win, it probably felt even longer. But in the end, it was well worth it for the conservation and continued efforts of the wild turkey at our NWTF PRICKETTS FORT LIMB HANGERS HUNTING HERITAGE BANQUET.
Every dollar raised goes right back into creating and maintaining habitat, supporting the growth and sustainability of the turkey population, expanding education and outreach at the local, state, and national levels, and ensuring that turkey hunting remains a strong and meaningful part of our lives — now and for future generations.
And while guests may have headed out late in the night, it’s important to remember those who put this event together entirely voluntarily. Months of planning lead to long days, long nights, and when the last guest leaves, the work isn’t over. Breakdown, cleanup, and hauling continued well into the early morning hours.
While many were finally getting some rest, NWTF PFLH was still going strong at 5:00am — and that truly puts meaning behind the word VOLUNTEER.
We wouldn’t trade it, though. This event is near and dear to us, and we’re already looking ahead to next year — along with many other events planned throughout the coming year.
