Graduation season is one of the best times of year. Proud families, big milestones, and a lot of celebrating. If you're hosting a party this spring, this is just a friendly reminder about something important.

Connecticut's Social Host Law makes it illegal to provide alcohol or cannabis to anyone under 21, and property owners can be held responsible even if they didn't know substances were present. Fines, potential jail time, and civil liability are all on the table if something goes wrong.

You've worked hard to get your family to this moment. Knowing the law before you celebrate is a small thing that makes a big difference. https://loom.ly/Wapk0Ec

Here's something worth knowing if you have a teen at home. The cannabis available today is not what was around 20 years ago. THC levels have more than tripled, and a developing brain is especially vulnerable to those effects.

Early use has been linked to memory problems, trouble learning, and a higher risk for anxiety and psychosis. And some of those effects don't fully reverse, even after stopping.

It's a conversation worth having before your teen is in a situation where they have to make that call on their own. https://loom.ly/-IC3i00

If you have a teen at home, this is worth knowing. More than 1.6 million kids in the U.S. were using e-cigarettes in 2024, and a growing number are using them every single day. That's not experimenting. That's addiction.

Nearly 90% of young users are drawn in by flavored products. Fruit, candy, mint. They're made to appeal to kids, and they're working.

Talk with your teen about what's actually in these products, and why they're designed the way they are. https://loom.ly/QPkUiN8

Graduation season is here, and with parties coming up across Connecticut, now is a great time to talk with your teen about alcohol before the invitations roll in.

You don't have to make it a big moment. Just an honest conversation about your expectations, how to handle situations where alcohol shows up, and knowing they can always call you. Store alcohol out of reach at home, know where they're spending time, and keep checking in.

Parents make a difference. https://loom.ly/iVTXYBk

Smiling does something powerful. It connects us. When you smile at someone, they usually smile back. That small exchange reminds both of you that you're not alone.

Real smiles come from real connection and real support. That moment when someone says something that makes you laugh. When you feel seen. When you're with people who get you.

Your teen's brain is incredible. It's still growing, learning, and building connections until their mid-20s. That means the choices they make right now are actively shaping who they become. And the good news? You have more influence than you think. Keep having those conversations. Stay involved. They're listening.
