FCFT members: have you voted in our union's presidential election yet? If not, today is a great day to cast your ballot for our next president! If you haven't seen your ballot yet here's how to find it and some voting tips:

🗳️ Ballots were emailed to the personal email FCFT has on file for you. It was sent around 7am Tuesday, January 14th. The title of the email is "FCFT President Election Voting Notice" and the sender is BallotPoint. People who have trouble finding it have had the most success typing "Ballot" into their email search bar. You can see how the email looks below. Once on the email you can click the blue "vote now" button to cast your ballot.

🗳️ You may have also received a text that says FCFT President Election and invited you to vote by text. It was also sent around 7am on Tuesday the 14th. This is also a valid form of voting and members can use either method. If you choose to vote by text, a link, active for 15 minutes only, will be automatically generated, so be sure to be ready to vote as soon as you initiate this option.

🗳️ You will know that your vote has been counted when you get the green confirmation screen. You will also get an automated confirmation email shortly after submitting your ballot. There is just one question on the ballot, so once you find your ballot, voting only takes seconds!

If you are a member and cannot find your ballot with either method, let me know ASAP and I can help you get it. Voting closes at 5pm Sunday 1/26 but don't wait until the deadline - vote today!

On the eve of our election, I have two more endorsements to share! I'm proud to have the support of two long-time members: Durann Thompson, a current and recently re-elected FCFT VP, and Karen Ramsey, our incoming VP for Retirees. I envision a future where a majority of FCPS operational and licensed staff are proud members of their union. Where all staff know and enforce our rights and live out the dream of shifting the power balance in FCPS. I envision workers from every job class and language background finding their voice through their union and working together to make FCPS the premier school district it has the potential to be.

I am proud to have built up my own school as a model of a worksite with a strong union identity. More than half of the staff are proud FCFT members and over 90% took action to support our collective bargaining campaign. As president, I intend to continue to spread this model of proud and empowered union membership throughout FCPS.
