For our final team spotlight before next Sunday's StarKid, we introduce you to Team Madison Strong! Madison is a true fixture in the Inova community, where her resilience has inspired us all. Madison's family shares her story:
Madison’s journey began at just 18 weeks when her membranes ruptured prematurely (PPROM). She amazed everyone right from the start, holding on for 6 weeks without any amniotic fluid. Born at 24 weeks, she spent the first 5 months of her life in the Inova NICU. She was discharged on home oxygen and has continued to make incredible strides ever since.
Her journey has touched nearly every corner of the Inova Children’s network — pulmonology, cardiology, GI, and Inova rehab — each team cheering her forward every step of the way. Now 4 years old, Madison’s premature lungs still make it difficult for her to fight seasonal bugs and infections, making her a frequent visitor to the Inova PICU. Despite the challenges, she continues to amaze everyone with her strength and resilience. She lights up every room with her fierce spirit, infectious joy, and heartwarming bravery. Our family is forever grateful for dedicated team at INOVA for the exceptional care and support they have provided throughout Madison’s journey.
We can't wait to see super StarKid Madison THIS SUNDAY!
