Navy Captain(R) John Young (Astronaut), who walked on the moon & later commanded the first space shuttle flight, has died at 87. The Retired Captain Young logged 15,275+ hours flying time in propeller aircraft, jets, helicopters & spacecraft; over 9,200 hours in T-38s & 835 hours in space. Rest in peace Hero!

The Department of Defense announced on yesterday the death of Staff Sergeant Aaron R. Butler, 27, USA, of Monticello, Utah. He was assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Camp Williams, Utah. He died Aug. 16 in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations, during a deployment in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He died August 13 of wounds sustained while engaged in combat operations in Iraq, while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. He died May 26, in Al-Hasakah, Syria, of injuries sustained during a vehicle rollover related incident, while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
