In the run-up to the midterm elections, President Trump has been busy trying to make the Alaska LNG project seem like a win for local Republicans. The only wrinkle is that his claims aren’t true. South Korea has not agreed to fund the pipeline, and Taiwan has not agreed to buy liquefied natural gas. Ultimately, magical thinking won’t make this pipe dream a reality.

President endorses Wilson for governor; claim Taiwan will buy 30% of gas from pipeline comes as he repeats falsehood about South Korea’s investment in project.

We had a great time this weekend celebrating the future of union labor on renewable projects in the state! We heard from speakers who shared about the history of renewable advocacy here, the exciting prospect of the Delta Wind project, which will be the state's biggest wind farm, and the importance of ensuring that project utilizes the strong union workforce we already have here in the state. We got to hear some rousing labor-themed folk songs from the Honeybucket Stringband, and got excited to take next steps to make this future a reality. Thanks so much to everyone who came out!

FAIRBANKS // TONIGHT

There will be a public meeting for the scoping process for the proposed Arctic mine in Fairbanks where attendees will have an opportunity to give testimony about the project.

The Ambler Road coalition urges anyone concerned about the proposed industrial Ambler road, and following development, to attend this meeting. This is your time to make your voice heard when it comes to the scoping process.

The meeting will begin at 5:30pm at the JP Jones Center, located at 2400 Rickert Street. If you need help formulating your comment, please reach out via direct message.

KEY POINTS FOR COMMENTS: The Arctic mine...
- threatens clean water
- will increase permafrost thaw
- would impact important subsistence resources like caribou and salmon
- threatens Indigenous communities and ways of life
- is dependent on the construction of the Ambler road, which has not yet been built and has faced widespread opposition

Today and always we celebrate the Indigenous Peoples across the country and especially here in Alaska. As an organization, we uplift Indigenous knowledge, wisdom and values as we continue to work to dismantle the ongoing harms of colonization.

There are so many incredible Indigenous led organizations across our state that are doing critical work healing communities, fighting for justice, protecting lands and waters and teaching us how to be in right relationship with all our relatives. We invite you to learn about and support these organizations that are vital to our movement and our collective future.

Check out the work of our partner Native Movement, and while you're at it, check out the incredible work of the over 20 community affiliate groups they support across the state here: https://www.nativemovement.org/community-affiliate-collective

The Interfaith Working Group has been promoting solar power for church groups, both as a way to save money on energy bills and as a way to be responsible stewards of the earth by reducing dependence on fossil fuels fuels. Members of First Presbyterian Church have participated with us in this effort, and we have celebrated with them when they completed their installation!

As energy costs rise throughout the state, a church in Fairbanks de...
