💛 Cancer Can Stop Your World in a Second

One moment, you're planning your 5-year-old son's first day of kindergarten.

The backpack is ready.
The pictures are planned.
You're imagining that first walk into the classroom.

And then, in a single moment, everything changes.

Mick is just 5 years old. He should be picking out his backpack, meeting his teacher, making new friends, and walking into his first classroom.

Instead, he is fighting for his life.

Cancer doesn't wait for the right time. It doesn't care about first days of school, birthdays, family vacations, or the dreams you had planned for your children.

For a family facing childhood cancer, the entire world can stop in a second.

Behind every diagnosis is a child who should be running into a classroom, not fighting for their life.

And behind that child is a family trying to stay strong while their entire world has been turned upside down.

This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Peter T Foundation asks you to see beyond the diagnosis.

See the child.
See the parents.
See the siblings.
See the fear.
See the strength.
See the family. 💛

Because childhood cancer doesn't just affect a child.

It changes an entire family.

And today, we are thinking of Mick and every 5-year-old who should be starting kindergarten but instead is fighting cancer.

Hug your babies a little tighter. 💛
Consider making a donation, just a cup of coffee worth, can go to families in need, would you consider giving up a single coffee for our children?

💛 WHO WAS PETER?
Before Peter was a cancer patient, he was simply Peter, energetic happy little Boy.
He was a son.
Someone’s child. Someone’s whole world.
He was a child with dreams.
Dreams for his future, for the life he was supposed to have, for all the moments still waiting for him.
He was loved beyond words.
By his family, by the people who knew him, and by everyone whose life he touched.

Then Peter became a cancer patient.

And everything changed. "ONE DAY EVERYTHING CHANGED"

His family became caregivers, learning a language no parent should ever have to learn. Appointments. Treatments. Scans. Waiting. Fear. Hope. More waiting.

But Peter was always more than his diagnosis.
Peter's story changed our family forever.

The pain of losing him never disappears. But from that pain came a promise:

We would do something with Peter's story.

His story became a mission.

A mission to support children with cancer.
A mission to support their families.
A mission to bring smiles into difficult days.
A mission to remind families that they are not alone.

And so, the Peter T Foundation was born.

Today, Peter may no longer be here physically… but his name continues to help children who are. 💛

Every backpack.
Every Happy Mail package.
Every smile.
Every family we support.

Peter is still making a difference.

We continue For Peter. 💛

September is Childhood Cancer awareness month.
When a parent hears that their child has cancer, their whole world stops. They become caregivers. They learn new jargon and all the medical terms. They become so familiar with what is possible and what happens during their many hospital visits. Parents and guardians become super heroes to their brave warriors.

While they gain all this knowledge and information about their child and their journey, they watch their child lose many smiles. Milestones are missed. Vacations take a back seat. Life is paused while their child is fighting cancer. The fight can be a few months to a few years long. Pausing childhood memories to fight cancer is just one of the harsh realities that faces these brave warriors.

September is a time to bring awareness to what these warriors and their families go through. It is a time to raise funds to give these kids their smiles back. A time to help these cancer warriors make more memories. When tomorrow is questioned, you want to make every tomorrow you are blessed with as meaningful as possible.

That is the goal at the Peter T Foundation. With the memory of Peter’s beautiful life as our driving force, we encourage you to make a donation to keep his memory alive. Every dollar that you donate goes to make a difference in the lives of kids that are fighting this battle or have fought this battle. Every kid deserves the most beautiful memories and every donation you make to the Peter T Foundation helps to make those memories a reality.

Georgia thoroughly enjoyed her cruise to Bermuda! She spent five wonderful days at sea with her mom, all made possible by our generous supporters. The families of Peter T received summer funds to create lasting memories together. These joyful smiles show just how invaluable those experiences are and that they will stay with them forever! We are thrilled to witness these moments and can’t wait for more to come!

SCAN ANXIETY — WHEN TREATMENT ENDS, THE FEAR DOESN’T ALWAYS GO AWAY 💛

For many families affected by childhood cancer, the end of treatment is supposed to be a time of celebration. And it is. But it can also bring a new kind of fear.

The appointments may become less frequent. The treatment may be over. But follow-up care continues, and with every scan, blood test, and doctor’s appointment can come the overwhelming fear of hearing that the cancer has returned.

There is no true certainty. No matter how much you want to believe that the worst is behind you, scan anxiety is real.

For Peter this fear became a reality.

Peter was declared cancer-free. We celebrated the words we had prayed so hard to hear. We believed we were moving forward. But within a year, we learned that Peter had another cancer.

That experience changed everything.

It taught us that being declared cancer-free does not always mean the fear disappears. For many families, survivorship comes with its own challenges—the constant worry, the waiting, the “what ifs,” and the anxiety leading up to every follow-up appointment.

If you are a parent, survivor, sibling, or family member who feels this fear, you are not alone.

At the Peter T Foundation, we remember that the cancer journey does not simply end when treatment does. The emotional impact, the follow-up care, and the fear of recurrence can continue long after the last treatment.

Today, we acknowledge every family waiting for scan results. Every parent holding their breath. Every survivor facing another follow-up appointment.

We see you. We understand. And we are walking beside you. 💛

Behind the scenes of Yoga for Good 🧘‍♀️

A very special thank you to our high school volunteers, Antonina, Camila, and Joanna, who organized Yoga for Good from start to finish. From developing the idea and reaching out to sponsors, to promoting the event and coordinating every detail, they turned their vision into a morning that brought 50 people together and raised $2,500 for the children and families supported by the Peter T. Foundation.

We are incredibly proud of the time, energy, and dedication they put into making this fundraiser possible. Their work is a reminder that you are never too young to bring people together and make a meaningful difference. 💛

Thank you to our founder, Jola, whose vision continues to inspire our volunteers and the work of the Peter T. Foundation.

We are also incredibly grateful to our sponsors, Paris Baguette, Corrado’s Market, Bagel Station, and Luna Dorada Wellness Center, whose generosity helped make the morning possible. A special thank you to Luna Dorada and our wonderful instructor, Melissa, for leading everyone through such a beautiful morning of yoga.

Yoga for Good was made possible by people who chose to give their time, resources, and support to something bigger than themselves. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this day to life.

❤️ TO OUR INCREDIBLE VOLUNTEERS ❤️

At the Peter T Foundation, we know that none of this would be possible without the people who continuously show up.

To every volunteer who gives their time, energy, ideas, and heart; thank you. Thank you for being there for every event, every planning meeting, every setup, every last-minute detail, and every big idea that helps us continue to grow.

You work hard behind the scenes to create meaningful events, bring new ideas to life, raise awareness, and most importantly, help us continue to share Peter’s story and the mission behind this foundation.

Volunteering is more than simply giving your time. It is choosing to care. It is showing up. It is believing that together, we can make a difference for children with cancer and the families walking through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for believing in Peter’s legacy. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for being part of our Peter T Foundation family. ❤️
