The Depot Exeter Auto Show is happening TODAY from 10 AM–2 PM on Front Street!

Come check out the cars, visit our local businesses, grab some goodies, and spend your Saturday right here in Exeter! Several businesses will be open with specials and extras planned for the day. 🙌

The weather may have gotten a little rowdy last night 😂⛈️ but we’re ready for a great day in Exeter!

⛈️ QUICK WEATHER UPDATE

Well, that came up fast! 😅

A thunderstorm moved into the Exeter area pretty quickly this evening, bringing heavy rain and plenty of lightning.

At this time, there is no severe weather warning in effect for Exeter, but we're keeping an eye on things and will post an update if that changes.

With lightning in the area, it's a good evening to stay inside and let the rain do the watering for us! 🌧️

⚠️ SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING — EXETER & CENTRAL BARRY COUNTY ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for central Barry County until 8:00 PM tonight.

As of 7:15 PM, the storm was located near Cassville and moving east at approximately 25 mph.

📍 Exeter is included in the warning area.

⛈️ WHAT TO EXPECT:
💨 Wind gusts up to 60 MPH
🧊 Quarter-size hail possible
🌧️ Heavy rainfall
🌳 Some tree, roof or siding damage is possible

If you're in the warning area, please head indoors, stay away from windows and bring in or secure anything outside that could blow around.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, so please use caution on the roads and never drive through flooded roadways.

Keep your weather alerts on and stay weather aware as this storm moves through. Stay safe, Exeter!

The juvenile involved has been released to their family.

If you live in the area affected by last night's thefts and have security camera footage, doorbell camera footage, or witnessed anything suspicious, please don't assume the Sheriff's Office already has it.

📹 If you have photos, videos, or information that may help the investigation, send a message to the Exeter Neighborhood Watch page. I have the investigating Deputy's email and will provide it so your information can be sent directly to law enforcement.

Even if it seems like a small detail, it could help complete the investigation. Thank you to everyone who's been looking out for one another.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨

The Barry County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the third suspect has also been taken into custody.

Because the third individual is a juvenile, no identifying information will be released. They have been released to their parents at this time.

🚨 EXETER NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH 🚨

Good morning, Exeter.

We wanted to provide an update regarding the overnight thefts reported within town.

According to residents, multiple vehicles were entered overnight, and several children's bicycles were stolen. Community members also reported suspicious activity in the area around 11:00 p.m., and several residents reviewed security camera footage and contacted law enforcement.

Law enforcement has since made arrests in connection with these reported incidents. The attached booking photos are public booking records of the individuals arrested in connection with the investigation. As with any criminal case, all charges are allegations until proven guilty in a court of law.

If you believe your vehicle, bicycle, or other property may have been affected overnight, please check for missing items and contact the Barry County Sheriff's Office if you have not already done so. If you have security camera footage from around 11:00 p.m., it may still be helpful to investigators.

A huge thank you to the residents who stayed alert, reported suspicious activity, reviewed camera footage, and assisted law enforcement. Community awareness truly makes a difference.
