Earlier this year, sophomore Miguel Hernandez-Delgado and recent Bonner alum Camila Guayasamin participated in the New Jersey Governor’s Hispanic Fellows Internship Program, serving within the Center for Hispanic Policy, Research, & Development (CHPRD). 🫶👏
The eight-week program is designed for New Jersey college students of Hispanic or Latino heritage to participate in enriching internships, while developing professionally.
Miguel, who served as a data entry intern with Hispanic Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement (HISPA), earned the “Class Speaker Award” at the culmination of the program.
“My internship program offered me the opportunity to expand my personal scopes, network and build relationships with other Latine college students and professionals, and gain more confidence in professional settings as a First-generation American and college student,” said Miguel.
“Becoming a CHPRD fellow means opening a door to opportunities and mentors who truly care about your future and are willing to extend a hand,” said Camila, who interned in the Office of Labor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement in the Office of Governor Phil Murphy. “Personally, I gained insight into the work of government and got to extend my internship at the Governor’s office with the Outreach team. Building a community of like-minded students propels me to become confident in my career and continue to seek out opportunities for growth.”
