Walk In Wednesday at Hope N Wellness 🌻
First off- there was an overdose down the road today. As a friend tried dragging him towards our location people ran ahead yelling for help. We grabbed narcan and ran down the road to the gentleman. 3 narcans, hard sternum rubs and ice cold water woke him up. 🙏 AMEN! He was able to come and spend some time with us after. 🫂 We love to meet new people and what a way to find us all! 🙏
We had a packed house today for sure! Lots of new AND familiar faces!
Mercy Watch, foodbanks, the recovery meeting and case managment were all the big wins for this Wednesday.
There is a rise in folks who have become housed and now come to see their friends and communuty here. People tend to not realize we work with so many vulnerable adults. From the outside MH challenges can appear scary because its "different" - however these very same people are extreamly vulnerable. When someone gets support, becomes stabilized and housed, having them dropped off by their "caregivers" for a few hours to visit with the people they know and trust can and is exteamly important in the "continuum of care".
Its structured freedom in a space they are comfortbale and welcomed in. :)
We have been called "My home without a home" and that is meaningful.
We have run out of ALL men's clothing at this time so thats one of the many ways you can help if your interested! 😀
