As an expansion of the Million Penny and Million Nickel club, our goal is to continue raising fund to support the Domnique Salvio Elementary School in the Village if Carrefour de Peres. The Haiti Million Dimes Club is totally focused on providing 28-33 part time jobs in an area where unemployment is incredibly high, even with a good education. The mission was to help children and the school, Domin
ic Savio Elementary in the Village of Carrefour Des Peres in Haiti. In 2009, the Haiti Million Nickel Club was created, which has focused on improving infrastructure with the school and parish, including building latrines and partnering with the Moll family to create a trade school. The HMDC helped create a foundation for the school library and restore electricity to the school and church. More recently, the Haiti Million Dime Club was created and through the generous donations of our community, 33 part time jobs for our student graduates were created. These part-time jobs pay approximately $5-$20 a day. Although that may not seem like much, it is important to realize that the average teacher is paid $90/month and the average Haitian income for one year is about $750. Our goal is to broaden the word of our mission and to be able to provide even more support to a community that is in need of our Heavenly Father's help.
