🇺🇸 DECK A VET — MEET WADE OSBORNE! 🇺🇸

Today, we’re honored to introduce you to Wade Osborne, a veteran whose years of service have taken him far beyond simply putting on a uniform. Wade dedicated 20 years of his life to serving our country, and we’re incredibly grateful for the sacrifices he and his family made along the way.

Wade spent his military career with the 163rd, with a short stint with the 113th during a pre-mobilization. He also served with the 1438th Transportation Company, including an 18-month deployment to Iraq from 2004-2005.

Wade later returned to Iraq in 2008–2009, where he served as a Truck Commander performing convoy security. His service also included a JRTC rotation in 2000 and a year serving in recruiting from 2001–2002.

Truly words can not thank him enough for his service to our country.

Now, it’s our turn to give something back to Wade. 🇺🇸

Deck a Vet is proud to have the opportunity to honor Wade and his service by helping create a space where he and his family can make memories for years to come.

We are so thankful for the community that makes projects like this possible. Thank you to Tad Mosley with Mosley Management and the Combat Veterans Association 14-7 for providing the funds to make this deck happen. This is what happens when we come together to say “thank you” to the men and women who served.

🇺🇸 Meet our newest Deck a Vet recipient — John Tucker 🇺🇸

John proudly served 12 years in the United States Army, eventually medically retiring as a Staff Sergeant. But his commitment to serving others didn’t end when his military career did.

For the past year and a half, John has continued to serve his fellow veterans by participating in military funeral honors, helping families honor their loved ones who served our country. In that time, he has been part of hundreds of military funerals, standing alongside families during some of their most difficult moments.

John also has a very special companion by his side — Big Boy, his service dog, who has been an important part of his life and his continued journey.

After 12 years of serving our country and countless hours spent honoring other veterans, we felt it was time to give something back to John.

❤️🇺🇸 And what a deck this one turned out to be!

We were able to make this deck much larger than we originally would have with our donated materials alone because John and his family generously helped with the purchase of additional lumber. Their contribution allowed us to turn this into an even bigger space for John and his family to enjoy.

We are incredibly grateful for their help, and even more grateful for the opportunity to build something special for a veteran who has spent so much of his life serving others.

John, thank you for your years of service to our country, for continuing to serve your fellow veterans, and for the countless families you’ve helped honor.

You’ve spent a lifetime serving others. Now it’s our turn to serve you.🇺🇸

Operation Deck-A-Vet had the honor and privilege of building a new deck and ramp for Army Veteran Charles Martin this month.

Charles began his military career in 1988, training as a Cavalry Scout at Fort Knox before serving with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany during the final years of the Cold War. Throughout his military career, he served in numerous assignments both at home and abroad, including deployments and missions in the Persian Gulf, Honduras, and Iraq.

After a brief break in service to teach in Knox County, Indiana, he answered the call to serve once again in 2005, reenlisting and deploying to Iraq with the 163rd Infantry. During his continued service, he trained troops preparing for deployment, served as a squad leader in Iraq, and later held leadership positions supporting soldiers and operations at home.

After more than two decades of dedicated service to our country, he medically retired from the United States Army in 2013 with the rank of Staff Sergeant Class (E-6).

Thanks to the generous support of our volunteers, donors, and community partners, we were able to provide a new deck that will help make daily life a little safer and more comfortable for this deserving veteran.

We are grateful for his sacrifice, dedication, and commitment to our nation. Thank you for your service, Charles Martin !

We had the privilege to build an emergency deck for a Vietnam veteran named John Hayden. John served from 1967 through 1971 as a signalman on the USS Raynor and the US James KYES. John is battling small cell lung cancer and also has COPD. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and was in need of a handicap accessible ramp to get into his home. A huge shout out to Tad Mosley, and Mosley management for donating the wood for this project, and a big thank you for those that were able to come out and help on this project last minute during the Christmas season. Thank you John for your amazing service to our Country
