First issued July 25, 1997 at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, this 32¢ set honors four of the greatest coaches in American football history.

Until 1954, November 11 was observed as Armistice Day in remembrance of the ending of WWI. The WWI armistice took effect the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. In 1954, President Eisenhower signed a bill renaming it as Veterans Day. This change was in response to a movement to honor all U.S. veterans, not just those from WWI. Today, we pause to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of our nation’s military veterans.

📬Our Stamps of the Week are the numerous issued to commemorate our veterans. Featured are the 3-cent Honorable Discharge stamp from 1946 and the 34-cent Honoring Veterans stamp from 2001. Feel free to share your favorites in the comments!

On October 21, 2025, Thomas Tom E. Springer, II, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away at the age of 80 after an extended illness, surrounded by family, while under the care of St. Anthonys Hospice. Tom was born to the late Thomas E. and Carma Lillian Riggs Springer on November 18,
