UE Pride Camp Ages 13-17. Donate: https://tinyurl.com/9y9xbz4n Be you. Belong. UE Pride Camp is an academic camp for LGBTQ+ youth and allies in grades 8-12.

Build lifelong friendships while learning about social justice activism, connecting with powerful stories of LGBTQ+ history, and learning how to write your own story. It takes place in June. Tuition is $700; financial aid is available. At camp, students
- Learn about LGBTQ+ history, heroes, social justice, and activism.
- Explore and celebrate their unique identities.
- Make lifelong friends and build connections to the LGBTQ+ community.
- Spend a week living on the University of Evansville campus.

Look what we found in the University Archives! 🏳️‍🌈

During a Q***r Memory Project visit to learn about archives today, we were so excited to see that materials from UE Pride Camp are already being preserved as part of the university’s history, including zines created by campers and this quilt from summer 2025.

This summer, our campers created quilt squares too, and we hope those can eventually be brought together as we continue this Pride Camp tradition.

There’s something pretty special about seeing the creativity, voices, and experiences of our campers being valued and preserved for the future. 💜

IYG is proud to partner with Jameson Camp once again to offer CampOUT—a traditional overnight summer camp experience created especially for LGBTQ+ youth ages 12–17. CampOUT provides all the fun of summer camp in a safer, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every young person can show up as their authentic self.

Whether you're a first-time camper or returning for another amazing summer, CampOUT is a place to build confidence, make lifelong friends, and create memories that last long after camp ends.

Q***r communities have often found ways to communicate through symbols, codes, colors, objects, and art.

Last night at Pride Camp, participants explored that language through flowers. Violets, lavender, green carnations, pansies, and others connected to identity, resilience, justice, friendship, love, and pride.

Then they created symbolic bouquets of their own. Each arrangement told a story about who they are, what they value, what they hope for, or what they want to remember.

A little glue, a little paper, a lot of meaning.

Last night Pride Camp activity invited campers into the history and meaning of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. They learned about the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the harm and stigma q***r communities faced, and the quilt’s role in honoring lives and also demanding recognition. After taking a virtual tour of the quilt and seeing UE’s own panels they made their own quilt squares, each one dedicated to someone or something meaningful to them. A thoughtful and creative evening, and a reminder that art can help us remember, grieve, love, and speak out

A little behind-the-scenes glimpse before Pride Camp begins later today.

Last night, our student leaders were hard at work preparing for the weekend, making buttons and helping get everything ready. Their creativity, care, and leadership are what make Pride Camp possible.

We’re excited to begin a weekend of community, belonging, and joy.
