Feline Fix

We are a small local TNR non-profit organization attempting to make a dent in the cat overpopulation problem in Vanderburgh and Warrick County.

Local 501(c)3 Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) group humanely reducing our area's feral/stray cat population, help for all cats to get fixed, finding homes for cats, help for hurt cats when possible, love for all cats and all things cat. The only money that we receive is through donations and fundraisers that we hold. We humanely trap feral and stray cats and have them fixed and vaccinated at VHS spay neu

ter clinic, then return the cats the morning after surgery to wherever we trapped them at. Ideally, all cats return unless they are in serious danger. We can help get friendly cats fixed as well. We also find home for tame adult strays, and tame kittens to find them homes as well.

Cat days of summer are expensive and heartbreaking, people allow them to be born and here, there and everywhere they are. We have had lots of expensive medical trips in addition to the regular spay, neuter trips. We have been going through canned kitten food like water, and gas like really expensive gas.
We need monies and lots of positive thoughts for these babies. ❤️‍🩹

We just wanted to share this thin slice of reality pie. These are some pictures we took of the cats we trapped today.
Not pictured the unsocial kitten with a broken leg and terrible upper respiratory infection , that will need to be euthanized.

This is every trap appointment, this is common, this is everywhere!
We are always preaching this, but when we see such an outcry about a cat needing medical attention in our community, we feel compelled to share. The cats that belong to “people down the streets” “the strays” “ the not your cats, but you just feed them”, this is what they look like, this is what they go through.

Also not pictured, all the ones killed by cars, the ones that die from infections that never get treated, fleas that finally take the last drop of blood, parasites that they all have, the upper respiratory infections, the deaths from preventable diseases from never having vaccinations.

These are the faces and wounds of the kittens that people “ get rid of” “find good homes for” dump somewhere else, move and not take them, these are cats that someone never bothered to fix and their thousands of offspring, the cats that someone couldn’t fathom aborting, their pets they tossed outside instead of fixing because the males sprayed, and the females kept having babies.

Cats that live outside are the same species as inside cats with the same needs.

Letting cats have babies is not an opinion it’s an intentional contribution to a massive problem!!

So these are the outcomes of a lot of people’s “morals” and their negligence and abandonment.

All these cuties, just waiting on their people to come adopt them! At Petsmart Evansville. $80.00 to adopt always fixed, before they get there, like all little responsible kitties should be, and vaccinated and treated for worms and flea preventative. 💚

Big Foot was doing crazy kitten stuff and got his leg stuck in an umbrella base, he was caught at his colony and taken to the vet he doesn’t have a break, and his swelling has gone down, his wounds cleaned and he was given some medications- and now he’s reunited with his sibs, look at him in his bed keeping the weight off his big foot like a good little foot. We are coming to try to catch his mom later in the week, so no more Big Foot sightings. 🤎

The cats wanted to remind people that the time to fix a cat is when you first have knowledge that it exists, comes in your yard etc!
What you don’t want to do is think 1 cat having a litter doesn’t make a difference, what you don’t want to do is think your cat will somehow defy the laws of nature and not get pregnant, what you don’t want to do is allow a cat to give birth and then think there is a place in the world for more cats, if you “found good homes” and didn’t have them fixed, you spread the irresponsibility, you didn’t solve a problem! What you don’t want to do is just feed and not fix.
Cats can and should be fixed while pregnant. Kittens can be fixed at 2 lbs. 💚

Sudzy here calling from Petsmart Evansville, I have been here way too long and need someone to come and adopt me!
I keep seeing other cats come in and leave in various assorted plastic carriers or cardboard carriers and I just come here and then come back because no one picks me, like ever!
Some cats act a fool going in the different carriers, not me I’ll get loaded into a box of soap if need be, and proudly go home with you!
I have a mad looking face, but that’s the face my momma gave me, and I’m nice damn it! ❤️
Early spring someone decided to put me and my 6 newborn kittens in a laundry basket in an alley, and there I sat in that basket taking care of them, nurse, wash, dry, nurse… and Feline Fix came to get me and my kids from that alley.
Speed up to now, they have all been adopted and a couple times at adoption events I have been annoyed okay sorry, human kids have had there hands in my kennel and they tasted like chicken so I gave a little nibble and so we had to give a little warning I do love chicken and not being annoyed, so sue me.
Someone sponsored half my adoption fee so I can get home, hopefully, sooner faster, for the love of god please, someone has to love me and my mean face, and sweetness, and my nibbles❤️
