National Donut Day is almost here! 🍩 This year, on June 5, we’ll celebrate Donut Day across the nation.

Donut Day was created to honor the Salvation Army’s “Donut Lassies,” who served fresh donuts and support to soldiers during World War I.

Feeling inspired? Here’s the original WWI-style donut recipe to try for yourself:

Yield: approximately 12 donuts

Ingredients:
• 1 large egg
• 1 cup flour
• ½ cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• pinch of salt
• ⅓ cup milk
• oil for frying

Directions:

Combine all ingredients (except the oil) to make the dough.
Thoroughly knead the dough, roll smooth, and cut into rings less than 1/4 inch thick. (Get creative—Salvation Army Donut Lassies used whatever they could find, from baking powder cans to coffee percolator tubes!)
Drop the rings into hot oil, turning slowly several times until golden brown.
Remove the donuts and allow excess oil to drip off.
Dust with powdered sugar, let cool, and enjoy!

If you give this historic recipe a try, tag us in your post—we’d love to see your creations! 🍩

A Sunday reminder to stay rooted in what matters most. ❤️

In a world constantly telling us what to chase, Romans 12:2 calls us to something different—to be transformed by faith, renewed in mind, and grounded in God’s truth.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” — Romans 12:2

This Memorial Day weekend, as many pause to reflect, we’re reminded to trust God with both our purpose and our path ahead.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Wishing you a meaningful and restful weekend.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

As we close out National Salvation Army Week, this verse beautifully reflects the heart of The Salvation Army’s mission across the Intermountain Division. From disaster response and food assistance to shelter, spiritual care, and community support, carrying one another’s burdens is more than a calling.

It’s love in action. ❤️

A Prayer for Salvation

Behind every moment of hope and healing is this truth: Salvation is our story.

During National Salvation Army Week, we celebrate lives being changed every day. Through compassion, service, and faith, people are finding hope, healing, and a new beginning.

It begins with honesty.
Recognizing our need for grace.Letting go of the weight we carry.Taking the first step toward something new.

“Jesus, I know I need You.I confess that I am a sinner.Thank You for loving me and forgiving me.”

No matter your past, there is hope for a new beginning.
