To the mystery person who donated these items from my Amazon wish list, I truly appreciate your generosity. I was completely surprised when I opened the box and found so many items! Your donation will help me prepare many companions for their new homes! My heart is overflowing with gratitude. Thank you again, mystery person! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’™

Another little behind-the-scenes look at Ms. Jeane’s Comfort Companions! πŸ§ΈπŸ’•

Today was laundry day! Four loads, about six hours, and 38 future companions washed, sanitized, and dried!

Next comes one of my favorite parts: naming each one. And yes, I really do put way too much thought into their names. πŸ˜‚ Then I’ll attach their name tags, pack everyone up, and get them ready for their new homes.

A lot of love (and laundry!) goes into every delivery. πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’™

A little behind-the-scenes look of what I do to prepare my companions. It takes me approximately 3 hours to make enough tags for 1 delivery. This little mission of mine is definitely a labor of love and while, it's time consuming, I absolutely enjoy it! πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’™

Today was my first delivery since losing my dad.

My last post was June 21st, when we celebrated Father’s Day with him. Just two days later, he suffered a stroke. That Father’s Day would be the last time I saw him as himself.

Dad was so proud of this little mission of mine. He even kept my business cards to share with people, despite hardly ever leaving his facility. πŸ˜‚ I know he would want me to keep going.

His loss has made this mission even more meaningful. Ms. Jeane lost the love of her life, and this October they would have celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Today was exactly what my heart needed. I met so many wonderful people who were so excited to choose their new companions. A few even found their name twins! One birthday girl chose a birthday bear πŸŽ‚, and I had the pleasure of meeting a resident who is ✨️103 (and a quarter) years young!✨️ The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming too. They were top tier!

It was a much needed boost of serotonin and I’m still smiling. πŸ€—

Dad, I’m getting back to it. I know you’d be proud. πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’™

One year ago today, I made my very first delivery for Ms. Jeane's Comfort Companions. ❀️

Since then, I've had the privilege of delivering more than 200 companions through 11 deliveries, bringing comfort, companionship, and countless smiles to memory care residents throughout our community.

My goal was to complete 12 deliveries during this first year. Unfortunately, two facilities declined deliveries today, so I fell just short of that number. While I was disappointed, I completely respect their decisions and hope that one day I'll have the opportunity to share companions with their residents as well.

Looking back, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. What started as a small idea inspired by my mom has grown into something I never imagined. Every donation, every share, every encouraging word, and every resident who has hugged a companion has helped make this journey possible.

As a one-woman operation, there are plenty of days filled with washing, drying, naming, tagging, sorting, and delivering. But every smile, every hug, and every story reminds me why I started.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Ms. Jeane's Comfort Companions over this past year. Here's to many more companions finding loving arms to hold them. πŸ§ΈπŸ’•

Happy Father's Day from Ms. Jeane’s Comfort Companions! We surprised my dad with a his favorite lunch (grilled cheese with ham and tomato soup), a chocolate milkshake and enough chocolate to last him a day or two! 🀣 Of course, Ms. Jeane got a milkshake and dad shared some of his chocolate with her. πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’™
