Kendra Litalien is yet another one of our wonderfully talented dancers. She became a member Dance Veritas in 2016.
At the age of three, Kendra started her training at Hosanna Dance Studio of Eugene, where she studied classical ballet, jazz, dance acrobatics, and modern technique. While at Hosanna, Kendra studied under the instruction, of Tiese Morgan, Jennifer Knight-Dills, and Leanne Mizzoni. Kendra also had the privilege to be coached under her mother, and distinguished instructor and choreographer, Nicole Elliott, and has followed in her footsteps to become a well sought-after dance instructor in Eugene for ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary training. Together, the mother-daughter duo coach dancers in the jazz program at Hosanna. While at Hosanna Dance, Kendra performed in many soloist roles in the studio’s production inspired by C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. She has also competed in several dance competitions in the state of Oregon, both on the North Eugene Dance Team and as a soloist and group competitor, even receiving an award for choreography and dance in her solo piece “Gravity.” In 2013, Kendra appeared as a guest dancer in New Hope College’s debut of the Disney musical, Tarzan, and has continued to perform as a guest artist in the local community. After graduating high school, Kendra continued her training at Ballet Fantastique, studying the upper levels of the Vaganova syllabus, and performing as an apprentice dancer with the company in the world premiere of The Dragon and the Night Queen. Kendra joined Dance Veritas in 2012, and was a part of the creative team that performed and produced the company’s premier work, Between Shadow and Light. This is her second show with the company. Kendra graduated Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2017, and will graduate in the Spring of 2018 with an M.Ed. in teaching and Curriculum. After graduation, Kendra is excited to continue to pursue both her passions for dance and education.
