Lastly we would like to introduce Kyndra Wiebe, another one of our talented dancers who also became a member of Dance Veritas in 2016.
Born into dance, Kyndra began her first "Mommy and Me" dance class at the age of two, with her mother, and owner of Hosanna Dance, Tiese Morgan. Privileged by the opportunity to pursue many genres of dance, Kyndra trained in Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, dance acrobatics, Tap, Hip Hop, and choreography. She became a member of Hosanna Youth Performers, which gave her the opportunity to combine her passion for God and dance through outreach performances in the community. At the age of six she began performing in Hosanna Dance Studio's winter Ballet based off of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, earning her first solo role when she was thirteen. Fifteen years from the creation of the magical show, Kyndra still participates in every performance, either on stage, or behind the scenes with cues, costumes and props. Kyndra now teaches classes at Hosanna for ages 6-8 as well as co-teaches a senior level choreography class with her mother. She joined Dance Veritas in the summer of 2016 as they began to create their premier show, Between Shadow and Light, as a collaboration with award winning pianist Neil Patton. Kyndra looks forward to many more seasons with the company, and is thrilled to dance and grow alongside such an amazing group of young women who pursue both dance and God.

Kendra Litalien is yet another one of our wonderfully talented dancers. She became a member Dance Veritas in 2016.
At the age of three, Kendra started her training at Hosanna Dance Studio of Eugene, where she studied classical ballet, jazz, dance acrobatics, and modern technique. While at Hosanna, Kendra studied under the instruction, of Tiese Morgan, Jennifer Knight-Dills, and Leanne Mizzoni. Kendra also had the privilege to be coached under her mother, and distinguished instructor and choreographer, Nicole Elliott, and has followed in her footsteps to become a well sought-after dance instructor in Eugene for ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary training. Together, the mother-daughter duo coach dancers in the jazz program at Hosanna. While at Hosanna Dance, Kendra performed in many soloist roles in the studio’s production inspired by C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. She has also competed in several dance competitions in the state of Oregon, both on the North Eugene Dance Team and as a soloist and group competitor, even receiving an award for choreography and dance in her solo piece “Gravity.” In 2013, Kendra appeared as a guest dancer in New Hope College’s debut of the Disney musical, Tarzan, and has continued to perform as a guest artist in the local community. After graduating high school, Kendra continued her training at Ballet Fantastique, studying the upper levels of the Vaganova syllabus, and performing as an apprentice dancer with the company in the world premiere of The Dragon and the Night Queen. Kendra joined Dance Veritas in 2012, and was a part of the creative team that performed and produced the company’s premier work, Between Shadow and Light. This is her second show with the company. Kendra graduated Cum Laude from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2017, and will graduate in the Spring of 2018 with an M.Ed. in teaching and Curriculum. After graduation, Kendra is excited to continue to pursue both her passions for dance and education.

Our next introduction is for the beautiful and kind Jessica Higgins, who joined Dance Veritas while it was still under the name of The Hosanna Dance Company.
Jessica has been dancing for seventeen years, but unofficially her whole life, getting her first tap shoes at 6. She started dancing Tap and Jazz at Eugene Ballet at the age of 8, then moved to Hosanna when she was 10 and continued studying in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, and Modern. "Tap is my passion in dance because it is so free yet so precise, I can make it my own and tap to any music or even in silence, the rhythm rumbles in me and frequently escapes showing my joy and love for the dance. If you watch me long enough I'll most likely break out a move or two with out even realizing. Dance ties everyone and everything together, I just love it and hope to carry it with me for the rest of my life!"

Today we would like to introduce Marissa Jensen, another beautifully talented dancer, who joined our company just over a year ago.
Marissa began dancing at 5 years old. Over the past 15 years she has studied Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, as well as choreography. She has been at Hosanna since she moved to Eugene and had participated in it’s winter show Adventures in Narnia 9 times. She is currently a college student at Lane Community College where she has continued her dance education while pursuing an associates degree. Marissa joined Veritas last January after watching their debut performance and is grateful for the opportunity to grow as an performer and as a person with this wonderful group of women.

Leading up to our upcoming show we want to introduce our lovely performers. We'd like to begin with our newest member, Kerry Laube, who joined us this last season.
An Oregon Native, Kerry began ballet lessons at Hosanna Dance Studio at the age of six under the direction of Tiese Morgan. By her thirteenth year at the studio she was enrolled in jazz, lyrical, modern, pointe, and tap as well as ballet. She joined the Hosanna Youth Performers dance company (HYPE) where she traveled to Hollywood to perform at ProjectDance, a ministry outreach. Kerry was given the opportunity to dance leading roles such as "Peter," "Susan," "Mr. Beaver," and "the Spirit of Christmas," in the studios production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe within her ten years on the cast. In her formative high school years, it was instructor Jennifer Knight Dills who nurtured Kerry's fascination with dance history and pedagogical studies. This led to her continuation of modern and ballet training at Lane Community College where she received the "Special Recognition Award" within the dance department in 2013. Kerry transferred to the University of Oregon where she studied under notable professors such as Walter Kennedy, Brad Garner, Shannon Mockli, Christian Cherry, and Dr. Jenifer Craig. She completed her dance studies for a Bachelor of Science degree in Spring 2017. Currently, she is teaching ballet, jazz, and modern with Junction City School of Dance, as well as co-manage the teen leadership program (JCSD Apprentices). Kerry has been dancing with Dance Veritas since April of 2017. When she is not on the dance floor, she spends her time working as a barista and baker at Mes Amis Cafe and reading books on coffee, dance, and psychology with her cat.
