Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue

Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue in Eugene, Oregon, that focuses on helping abandoned and surrendered dogs find their forever homes.
(1)

Every dog deserves a warm, forever home! Wiggly Tails focuses on small breed dogs, and occasionally bigger dogs. Our dogs come from the high-kill shelters in California, as well as local owner surrenders. All of the dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and most are microchipped before going to their forever homes. (Puppies will require additional follow-up vetting on a schedule we provid

e.) We are always in need of foster homes! If you are considering opening your home to a dog, but you are not sure if it is the right time, why not foster a dog in need and test the waters? The more foster homes we have available, the more dogs we can save. Our adoption fees vary, depending on age and breed. Adoption fees help cover veterinary expenses (such as dental work, vaccines, unexpected illness, and preventative care) and allows us to continue saving lives. We try our best to find our dogs and puppies homes within the Eugene/Springfield area (or within a 60 mile radius) so a home visit can be made to insure proper placement, and for us to provide continued adoption support. Can you help a dog in need? We would love to hear from you!

Barley
2 year, neutered male, 12 lbs
Chihuahua Mix

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Barley is a friendly and sweet boy. He’s shy at first, but quickly warms up (treats help!). He wants to be near his person and has average activity needs, He’s eager to please, comes when called, is fine with being picked up and bathed.

LIKES: Being petted, hanging out on the sofa, being with his foster parents and dogs, walks, playing with toys, being told how handsome he is.

DISLIKES: Barley is an easy-going fellow, so there doesn’t seem to be much that he doesn’t like, other than neighborhood squirrels.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is mostly trained, but needs to be let outside regularly as he currently doesn’t alert anyone when he needs to go out.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He’s happy to sit quietly in his pen, but hasn’t been tested with the crate.

EXTRAS/MISC: He’s a bit of a velcro dog, so may need to work on separation anxiety. He gets on great with the other dogs in the house. He knows when to be respectful and not bother dogs that don’t want to interact, but is also very playful if the other dog instigates it. He’s untested with cats and kids.

To further inquire about BARLEY, submit an application.

Dog CPR course

🐾❤️ REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! ❤️🐾

After everything that happened with our sweet Sammie, one thing became incredibly clear… every pet owner should know Pet CPR & First Aid.

We never expected to find ourselves in a situation where we had to perform CPR on one of our own dogs, and we hope none of you ever do. But if that day ever comes, having the knowledge to act in those first critical moments could make all the difference.

That’s why we’re so excited to partner with Oregon CPR to bring these hands-on, certified Pet CPR & First Aid classes to the Who Rescued Who Event Center at The LaundroMutt! Participants will learn lifesaving mouth-to-snout CPR, how to assess an emergency, and first aid skills for common pet emergencies.

🐶 Choose the class that works best for you:

❤️ Thursday, August 6 – 6:00 PM
Register here:

❤️ Sunday, August 23 – 2:00 PM
Register here:
https://orcpr.com/class/pet-cpr-and-first-aid-at-laundromutt-2/

💲 Cost: $75 per person

Even better? $10 from every registration will be donated to a local animal nonprofit, and Oregon CPR is generously matching our donation with another $10. That means $20 from every attendee goes directly back to helping local animals in need! ❤️🐾 Since we’ll be offering multiple classes throughout the year, each class will benefit a different local rescue or nonprofit, helping spread the love throughout our community.

Whether you’re a pet owner, groomer, trainer, pet sitter, veterinary professional, rescue volunteer, or just someone who loves animals, this is a class we truly believe everyone should take.

🎟️ Space is limited, so grab your spot today!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post, you never know whose pet it could help save someday. ❤️🐶

Ragatha aka Agatha
4 years, spayed female, 18 lbs
Chihuahua mix

LIKES: Being the center of attention, receiving pets and cuddles (is very interested in sleeping under the covers with you), napping in your lap, taking long walks with plenty of stops for sniffing, chasing after toys, running on the beach, chewing on rawhides or similar, sharing face kisses.

DISLIKES: Feeling left out, being “abandoned”, car rides, and getting wet.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: The best of Ragatha’s wonderful personality will shine through when she is in the presence of her caregiver, at home, and not surrounded by unfamiliar people or pets. At her foster home she is consistently silly, spunky, sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She is also very perceptive and eager to please, potentially lending well to positive-reinforcement training—she has learned “sit”—but she will sometimes become too excited to register commands. Ragatha can acclimate to new people but needs slow introductions when people enter her home, and could use continued training and socialization outside of the home in situations with people.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha is perfectly potty trained when you are around. If she is left alone, she becomes anxious and will have accidents.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Ragatha may sometimes voluntarily enter her crate when seeking a safe space, and she can also easily be picked up and placed inside her crate, but she doesn't like to be left in a crate.

OTHER: Ragatha’s size to high-jumping ratio parallels that of a cat’s, so while she is generally well-behaved towards your property, beware of the possibility for her to get onto tables or other high surfaces! Her compatibility cohabitating with children, other pets, or multiple “equal value” caretakers is unknown. Ragatha may benefit from being in a home with another dog that can show her the ropes. Or be with someone who is home most of the time and work on short times of separation.

Kylian
2 years, neutered male, 16lbs
Shih Tzu mix

LIKES: People and cuddles, running around in the backyard exploring, playing with toys, being curious and being a part of the family.

DISLIKES: Being confined to a crate and visits to the groomer.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Kylian a street smart dog that is fearless and curious. He’s an energetic and happy little guy who loves action and adventures. He follows the lead of his foster dog brother, and happily chases him for a couple laps around the yard. He’s cute as can be and loves to either curl up at the foot of the couch or hop up on your lap for some good cuddle time.

POTTY TRAINING: Work in progress. He still doesn’t ask to go outside but does his business when he’s taken out regularly. He was recently neutered and may need to wear belly bands for a bit to reduce marking behavior.

CRATE TRAINING: He doesn't love being crated and can be vocal and needs more positive reinforcement training to become comfortable having down time.

OTHER/MISC: Kylian was recently neutered and had surgery for his eyelid "cherry eyes." He’s recovering from those procedures and needs to wear a cone for another week.
He has not had experience with cats or kids at his foster home. Kylian is looking for a family that can help him learn his manners and would do well with an experienced owner that enjoys training.

To further inquire about KYLIAN, submit an application.

[PENDING] Canelo
1 year, neutered male, 15 lbs
Chihuahua mix

LIKES: Canelo loves lounging in the sun, sleeping in a ball at the foot of the bed, and going for walks. He also like hanging out with other dogs and they have been showing him the ropes of dog life with a family. They haven't managed to teach him how to use the doggie door yet. He gets along well with any other dog.

DISLIKES: New things can be a little scary but Canelo quickly gets over it.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Canelo is a happy go lucky guy. He gets along with everyone. He is developing good manners very quickly, and he waits while his human enters the house first, waits to eat his dinner until he is told to go ahead, and his recall is getting better.
He is unsure about being picked up but if you cradle him like a baby, legs poking all over, he relaxes pretty quickly. Couch snuggles are a favorite with Canelo.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Prefers to do his business outside! He will let you know when he needs to go. It has worked best for his foster family to take him outside onto the grass every so often. He is becoming more assertive about letting know.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Canelo does just fine in his crate. He has shown that he can be trusted unsupervised for a bit at home.

EXTRAS/MISC.: Canelo generally prefers to stay near his human and will follow you from room to room in the house, settling down nearby to watch you. He is getting better and better with walking on a leash. He has this adorable resting pose - he prefers to spread his front paws out and stick his rear end up in the air, just like a "down dog" in yoga. For this reason a great forever name for him would be "Yogi!" He's a great little dog, very affectionate, and will make anyone a great companion. He is untested with cats.

Suki
3 months, female, 11 lbs
Australian shepherd mix

LIKES: Playing with toys, playing with her foster brother, food, belly rubs, sleeping, eating, being a puppy!

DISLIKES: Haven't really discovered any, except maybe not getting fed as fast as she'd like!

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Suki is very smart! She knows "sit" already, and is working on her recall. She's a puppy, so, its a work in progress!! Very curious, and soaking up all the new information she can gather about the world. Very fast! Loves sprinting across the yard in her foster home!

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Work-in-progress, goes potty with regular trips outside. She has used puppy pads inside the foster home.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Sleeps in her crate at night, protests at fist, but settles down quickly.

To further inquire about SUKI, submit an application.

🐾❤️ADOPTED❤️🐾

Cairo
1 year, neutered male, 12 lbs
Chihuahua mix

Introducing Cairo!
Cairo is a fun, playful little guy who loves playing with toys and other dogs. He will follow you around the house and loves to be part of the action.

LIKES: Playing with any toy, exploring and lounging around the yard, and playing with the other household dogs.

DISLIKES: Unknown bigger dogs make him nervous, so gentle introductions is best.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Cairo is very playful! He is smart and easily corrected.

POTTY TRAINING: He may try to mark in new environment, so use of belly bands for first few days will be key to success.

CRATE TRAINING: Cairo has been sleeping in his crate without complaint in his foster home.

OTHER/MISC: Cairo has been working on understanding what a leash is and getting more confident on walks. He would do great with a person or family that will give him plenty of play time - and another playful pup would be a great bonus!
He does tend to want to gnaw/chew so correction and redirection to appropriate toys may be needed. He is also the dad to our "Egypt Litter", which includes Isis.

To further inquire about CAIRO, submit an application.
