Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue

Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue in Eugene, Oregon, that focuses on helping abandoned and surrendered dogs find their forever homes.

Every dog deserves a warm, forever home! Wiggly Tails focuses on small breed dogs, and occasionally bigger dogs. Our dogs come from the high-kill shelters in California, as well as local owner surrenders. All of the dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, and most are microchipped before going to their forever homes. (Puppies will require additional follow-up vetting on a schedule we provid

e.) We are always in need of foster homes! If you are considering opening your home to a dog, but you are not sure if it is the right time, why not foster a dog in need and test the waters? The more foster homes we have available, the more dogs we can save. Our adoption fees vary, depending on age and breed. Adoption fees help cover veterinary expenses (such as dental work, vaccines, unexpected illness, and preventative care) and allows us to continue saving lives. We try our best to find our dogs and puppies homes within the Eugene/Springfield area (or within a 60 mile radius) so a home visit can be made to insure proper placement, and for us to provide continued adoption support. Can you help a dog in need? We would love to hear from you!

Theodore
4 mos, male, 7 lbs
Terrier mix

LIKES: Playing with other dogs, big and small. Tug-o-war with toys and ropes are especially fun. He also enjoys crinkle toys and dragging floor mats.

DISLIKES: Not much bothers him.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Theodore is a very friendly and fairly precocious pup. He is smart and has learned to go into his pen for treats and is picking up on potty training quickly. He comes up to greet his foster family members and comes to a call or whistle. He settles in his X-pen and puts himself to nap/sleep in an open-doored crate.

CRATE TRAINING: He is comfortable being crated and doesn't fuss.

POTTY TRAINING: He is well on his way to mastering this. He uses a potty pad when in the X-pen but has mostly being going outside when given regular opportunities.

OTHER/MISC: Theodore has already learned to bark and has proven to be quite alert. But he responds to correction and learns routines quickly. He's playful and likes to cuddle, but has too much energy to sit still and be a lap puppy. He loves playing with other dogs and exploring. He can be a bit of an escape artist, and will need a tightly fenced yard. We expect him to be a small dog, under 25 lbs as an adult.

To further inquire about THEODORE, submit an application.

Mochi
3 years, spayed female, 18 lbs
Chihuahua/Terrier mix

Lil miss Mochi is a stubby-tailed sweet girl. She is a bit timid around new people but is very sweet one on one. She wants to know where her people are at all times but is ok being close but not glued to her person. When she does smile at you it feels like a lifetime achievement. She came to us from California, and is a big fan of sunbathing.

She is potty trained completely, walks well on a leash and she likes to sleep in a kennel overnight.

She is rather uninterested in other dogs, not aggressive at all, just isn’t into it. She will make a wonderful companion and is probably best with older kids that are willing to move slowly and be patient with her.

To further inquire about MOCHI, submit an application.

Sandro (aka “Scamp”)
2 years, neutered male, 11 pounds
Poodle/Terrier mix

LIKES: Chasing, catching/retrieving, returning any and all flying objects tossed for him. He also appreciates snacks but isn’t a beggar (except for more tossing please). Also he likes a good belly rub and lap time affection in general. He’ll play with toys on his own, that is if no one wants to keep tossing them for him.

DISLIKES: When you stop the belly-rubbing! But he does recover quickly. He hasn’t had an easy time with wearing a harness or walking on a leash, so could use consistent work on this if desired. While he doesn’t seem to dislike his foster uncle dog, he hasn’t shown interest in playing with him either.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: This little guy is 100% enthusiastic about playing and has excellent skills in this department. Although he can be shy at first, once he feels safe with a person, he will eagerly invite you to join in the fun. Like many of our rescued dogs, he seems to find females easier to trust than male humans.

POTTY TRAINING: Frequent visits to the back yard in his foster home are helping with potty training.

CRATE: Generally a toy thrown in will entice him to enter his crate, and then he doesn’t complain until his foster mom comes home. On occasion he will go into the crate on his own for some quiet time. He has been left to wander freely for short periods unsupervised and he’s been fine. At night he visits the human bed for a bit and then goes into the living room to sleep alone. In the morning he comes for another visit.

OTHER/MISC: Sandro has been known to tear up used tissues, so covering trash is recommended. He has also put his face near a plate of food that was on the coffee table, so for now he needs an eye kept on him. He’s smart enough to learn what is and is not acceptable though, so hopefully this kind of sneaky behavior won’t last. He is bouncy and may be overwhelming for small children.

Meet Bruce Wayne 🦇🐶
1.5-year-old, neutered male, 35 lbs
Mini Aussie x Pit x Great Pyrenees mix

This sweet, loyal boy is looking for the right forever home.
He’s healthy, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. Fast, agile, and full of personality, Bruce would make an amazing hiking or adventure companion. He also enjoys the simple things in life — popping bubbles, snuggling on the couch, and going for car rides.

Bruce has grown up with two other dogs and around children ages 6+. He is dog-friendly once he settles down and absolutely loves to play. He’s smart, energetic, and eager to be involved in whatever you’re doing.

He is:
• Potty trained
• Crate trained
• Trained with recall, “place,” and both on- and off-leash walking, but could use more work.

A few important things to know:
•Bruce has a strong prey drive and cannot live with cats, chickens, or other small animals.
•Once Bruce decides you are his people, he can become possessive of your affection or space towards other dogs, so you will need to be clear that is not acceptable.

Best fit for Bruce:
• Someone familiar with bully breeds and/or livestock guardian breeds
• An active home that can keep up with a smart, high-energy dog
• No small animals in the home

Bruce is up to date on vaccines. If you think you might be the right fit for this handsome guy, submit an application.🖤

Bea
2.5 years, spayed female, 44 lb.
English bulldog

LIKES: Bea likes everybody and everything but especially likes physical attention from her humans. Pets and snuggles are her favorite.

DISLIKES: Sometimes she is a little timid meeting new men. She does not like being squirted with the hose or the water bottle but oddly likes to swim. Sometimes she doesn't like sharing and will use her size to get what she wants.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Very friendly, bouncy, sweet, loving, playful, Goofy and puppy like.

POTTY TRAINING: Fully potty trained and communicates well.

CRATE TRAINING: Fully crate trained and enjoys down time in her special place in the crate. Also goes to the crate for meal time.

OTHER/MISC: She loves her backyard pool and may enjoy a little swim in the river/lake. Bea is a low to medium energy dog with very low maintenance. Bea loves to chase cats and could potentially injur a cat. She also can be possessive of some toys/treats, and for this reason we do not recommend her going to a home with small children.

To further inquire about BEA, submit an application.

Molly
6 year old, spayed female, 65 lbs
Terrier mix

LIKES: Loves to be close to her person, stroll around the fenced yard, playing with toys, chewing on bones and belly rubs.

DISLIKES: Reactive toward other dogs and cats.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Molly is a 65 lb lap dog. She also makes a great foot warming lumpy rug! She stays close to her person when outside and inside. She loves people and is very loyal. Molly would be great as a companion dog. She just wants to hang out with her person. She would prefer to be the only pet in her forever home.

POTTY TRAINED: Fully potty trained.

CRATE TRAINED: Molly is in an x-pen with large open crate in her foster home.

OTHER/MISC: Molly was with an un-housed gentleman owned in California. She came with another dog, but when she meets unfamiliar dogs she can be reactive. Her foster mom has been working with a soft lead to control her better on walks. Over all, Molly is a big sweetheart that has a ton of love and loyalty to share with her person. She has not been around kids in her foster home but she seems to love all people. Molly has a special adoption fee for the right home.

Champ
2 yr, 12 lbs, neutered male
Terrier Mix

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Champ is a happy guy and an absolute ray of sunshine. His fluffy little tail wags all the time. He is friendly with his foster family, including other dogs, and he loves introducing himself to strangers on walks. He is relatively unflappable and would do well in almost any environment where there were people around.

LIKES: Champ loves being petted, belly rubs especially. He mostly loves being around his people and doing whatever you are doing. He enjoys walks (and is good on the leash), having his coat brushed, and his chew stick.

DISLIKES: Being in a crate and bath time.

POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is house-trained. If you let him outside regularly to do his business, he knows what to do.

CRATE TRAINING STATUS. Champ would much rather be with his person than in a crate and he’ll let you know that he has strong feelings about this.

EXTRAS/MISC: Champ does not have a mean bone in his body. He is all love. He knows how to turn on the ‘cute’ to get lots of pets. It’s very hard to resist him. He would do best with someone who can give him lots of time and attention. Because of his volume when left alone, he is not well-suited for apartment life.

To further inquire about CHAMP, submit an application.
