What: The Pro-Voice Project (based out of north Idaho) is presenting Abortion Is Healthcare: Provider Stories from Idaho’s Front Lines, a documentary-style performance built from interviews with Idaho physicians, performed by local professional actors (credits include Boise Contemporary Theater and Idaho Shakespeare Festival). The script is informed by a recent JAMA Network Open research letter on Idaho’s OB/GYN landscape and centers the lived experiences of providers who’ve stayed and those who’ve left.
When: Friday, November 7th. Doors open at 6:00 PM, Show starts at 7 pm

Today is Giving Tuesday and we need your support now more than ever! Please

The results of the presidential election mean an uncertain and difficult future for our work. We have already seen significant increases in both out-of-state travel and abortions later in pregnancy because of the Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health decision. We expect that to only continue to increase, and for the climate to access abortion to become more and more hostile. Since the Dobbs decision in June 2022, we have served nearly 7,000 callers on our helpline and spent $7,248,183 to help people pay for their abortions and travel to access care. 

We need your support more than ever. This year an anonymous donor has agreed to match all of our end of year donations up to $25,000. That means whatever you donate to NWAAF before December 31 will double! 

Now more than ever we need each other. To get through what’s ahead we must focus on building community and caring for each other as we face this uncertain future. The United States government can try to ban abortion, but they cannot make abortions stop happening. People’s need for abortion care does not stop because the state wants it to. And we will be here, continuing to support abortion access

Dear providers and partners,
NWAAF will be closed the week Thursday November 28th - Friday November 29th

During these closures our funding and practical support teams will be on leave. Our online intake form will also be closed, and we will not be returning any call or messages that come into our helpline. We will also not be responding to any emails sent to [email protected]
We appreciate your patience and grace upon our return, as our small team works to connect with each person who reaches out for support or referrals.
Please bear in mind our closure dates when referring patients/clients to NWAAF for funding and practical support. For individuals with appointments during our closure and with whom we intake ahead of our closure, the funding & practical support team will do our best to arrange the full scope of funding and practical support in advance. We will be clear to callers that NWAAF will not be available for real-time troubleshooting or additional support during this time and will address any issues that do come up upon our reopening.

For referrals submitted less than 48 hours ahead of scheduled closures that have scheduled appointments during our hiatus, please know that we will only have capacity to support in the form of reimbursement as we will not be able to provide any direct support to clients while we are closed.

We are seeing more and more individuals coming from banned states- especially those who are in needing a later term abortion accessing care in the PNW.
This is what we are seeing.
This is what is happening.
More folks having to delay the abortions they need because clinics are booked months in advanced or only open on limited days.
We are seeing it.
We are hearing the stories of individuals who cannot access abortion because it would mean they would have to decide between funding their abortion or utilities.

Roe v Wade was never enough. It is up to us, our community, to rise to the occasion.
