# It’s officially rodeo season here in Oregon and that means many animals will be exploited in the name of profit and entertainment.

EVA and Cascadia Animal Rights Alliance will be spending the next month targeting the Eugene Pro Rodeo, which takes place July 2-5. Tune in tomorrow for our first post in a series, highlighting the cruel and inhumane events that will take place there.

We want to send a clear message that the rodeo is not welcome in our town and we will need your support! Make sure to participate in our calls to action and share widely with your friends and family.

What would the world look like if everyone was a vegan? That's what the documentary, The End of Meat hopes to explore. We all know how much a powerful documentary, like Cowspiracy, can help shift people's perspectives and bring about significant change.

"Get-To-Know-You" Potluck With Eugene Veggies

Eugene Veggies is a group that welcomes everyone who is interested in eating with and socializing with people who practice or are interested in a plant-based diet. The goal is to create community among people who care about animals, the planet, our fellow humans, and our own health. Whether you eat only plants or are a full omnivore, everyone is welcome to join. Eugene Veggies has great potlucks, afternoon teas, hikes, game days, movies, etc. We have also taken action by distributing leaflets at the UofO and volunteering at a farm sanctuary. Eugene Veggies has people of all ages and backgrounds.

Eugene Veggies has experienced a change in leadership. The new organizer, JJ Bienn, is hosting a "get-to-know-you" vegan potluck. This is the perfect time to check out the group. You can join the free meetup group, "Eugene Veggies" by following the link below. You can then "Yes" RSVP to the potluck or check out the other fun upcoming events. Pacific Trails plans to start bulldozing the route for its gas and Enbridge's oil pipelines this northern hemisphere summer. An action camp is coming soon in their path. You can join the Caravan to Wet'suwet'en from Victoria & Vancouver on August 4. Then camp at Unis'tot'en on the Morice River from August 4-10.
