Kids - this one's for you!

In this two-part workshop, students will transform their choice of fabric (thrifted sheets encouraged!) into their very own pair of custom pajama pants. Designed specifically for 3rd–5th graders, this class covers the basics of using a home sewing machine, how to follow a simple pattern and the fundamentals of garment construction.

Students will learn how to lay out and cut fabric, sew straight seams and create a comfy elastic waistband. By the end of the second session, they’ll have a finished pair of PJ pants to wear home and a reusable pattern to keep making more! No prior sewing experience is required—just a desire to create.

Today we have a Re-Patch work session, where graduates of our Industrial Unhoused Sewing Class are making upcycled bike tube wallets. Thank you so much to for these bike tubes! We are always upcycling at Viking Textile Maker Hub!

Did you know that our Maker Space includes this rad work bench for grommets, eyelets and leather work? We even have these cool leather stamps that you can use to personalize vegetable tanned leather.

Maker Space memberships are $80/month and include 24/7 access to the space and our small fleet of industrial machines. We are located in the building 🙏
