Gastroparesis and Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction Patients of Alaska

Gastroparesis and Intestinal Pseudo-Obstruction Patients of Alaska G-PACT sponsored page aimed at spreading news related to GP/CIP events in AK and connecting AK patients to each other.

Description
"Rays"ing awareness of gastroparesis (GP) and chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIP) in order to help increase funding into finding a cure or better treatment options for GP and CIP. We increase awareness through online programs, lobbying, exhibiting and speaking at conferences, contacting news media, contacting politicians, working with other related organizations, connecting wit

h DTP physicians and medical companies, and organizing events locally and nationally. Gastroparesis, chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, and colonic inertia are three paralytic conditions of the digestive tract. Together they are known as "Digestive Tract Paralysis" or DTP.

RESEARCH DONATIONS

Due to the generosity of our patients, G-PACT just wrote checks to two major research studies for digestive tract paralysis. This year, we are supporting the work of Dr. Tom Abell at the University of Louisville and Dr. Ken Koch at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

YOU have made this possible. G-PACT operates on a very small budget since we pay no salaries and have little overhead. The more donations we receive, the more we will be able to donate, in your behalf, to research studies that might lead to better treatment options, and a cure.

Thank you for your support!

This page will soon be merged into a regional page called "G-PACT in the Northwest" or something along those lines. It will include several NW states in order for us to include events in surrounding areas and maintain a better presence on a regional level much easier. You all deserve better local representation and regional events than we have been able to provide.

We hope this will be more effective. This change should take place over the next two weeks. As usual, our main page remains highly active and we invite you to continue to follow us closely at www.facebook.com/GPACT to keep up with our progress, especially since it's Digestive Tract Paralysis Awareness Month.

Thank you for your support!
