✨ One constellation. Many stars. One incredible night. ✨

Recently our FPRA Southwest Florida Chapter hosted the annual Awards & Board Installation. It was an incredible night that brought members together to celebrate the people, leadership and service that continue to make our chapter shine. 🌟

We recognized an incredible group of professionals and emerging leaders with our annual Chapter Awards, including:

🌟 Rising Star: Gabriella Garcia
🦅 Pam Nulman Soaring Eagle PR Award: Violet Powell
⭐ Unsung Hero: Heather Doane, APR, CPRC
🌟 Member of the Year: Nicki McTeague
⭐ PR Professional of the Year: Susan Frantz
💫 Friends of Janet Philanthropy Award: Lauren Bernaldo, APR, CPRC

We also welcomed our 2026–2027 Board of Directors and officially began a new chapter year under the leadership of Chapter President Evelyn Longa.

Inspired by FPRA’s statewide theme, One FPRA, Many Voices, Evelyn shared her vision for the year ahead: our chapter as one constellation made stronger by the many distinct stars within it.

Different experiences. Different talents. Different voices. One shared purpose.

And our North Star? Our members. 💙

This year, we’re creating even more opportunities to connect, collaborate, learn from one another and put your talents to work within our FPRA community.

🌟 So, where will YOU shine this year? Whether it’s attending an event, joining a committee, sharing your expertise, mentoring another professional or simply making a new connection—we invite every member to find their place in our constellation and get involved.

Tell us in the comments: What do you want to get out of your FPRA experience this year? 👇

And stay tuned! Over the coming weeks, we’ll spotlight each of our Chapter Award recipients and share the stories behind their well-deserved recognition.

Here’s to the stars who brought us here—and a new chapter year of shining even brighter, together. ✨

✨ One constellation. Many stars. One shared purpose. ✨

As we begin a new year with FPRA Southwest Florida, Chapter President Evelyn Longa is reminding us what makes this chapter so special: each of us has a place here.

From our chapter’s founding in 1985 to today, FPRA Southwest Florida has been building connections, fostering collaboration and helping communications professionals find their place and shine.

This year, inspired by FPRA’s statewide theme, One FPRA, Many Voices, Evelyn’s vision is to bring our chapter together as one constellation made up of many distinct stars. 🌟

Every PR, marketing and communications professional in Southwest Florida has a place in that constellation — whether you’re new to FPRA or have been part of our chapter for years.

And our North Star? You.

This year, we’re aligning our talents, energy and support for one another with a shared focus on creating real value for our members — through collaboration, continuous learning, shared expertise and meaningful connections.

Because when we shine together, we make the entire constellation brighter. ✨
