Essex PoliTalk started in August of 2019 in response to a need for everyday folks to discuss what was happening in local Essex and Essex Junction Politics.
We started meeting in person, then remotely during COVID, hybrid, and now we are back to remote.
We meet every week, alternating Saturday and Sunday. See Events for upcoming events.
We try to create a comfortable space for folks to express their thoughts and opinions. We remind each other: we are neighbors, we live together, and we want to improve our community for everyone's sake.
We ask two things:
1) Be civil and
2) Refrain from personal attacks if an opinion you may not agree with is expressed.
We require one thing: when sharing something you hear at PoliTalk, do not attribute it.
"You can repeat what you heard, but not who said it."
We often have a dozen participants - and try to stay in turn giving all a chance to speak.
