The United States of America is one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Yet, over 40 million people in America live in poverty as of 2016, with 13.8 million of them under the age of 18. Where there is poverty, there is also hunger, job insecurity, crime, homelessness, and despair. Inspired by the messages of Jesus Christ in the Book of Mathew 25: 31-4, we take care of the basic needs of the mo
st vulnerable individuals and families in Escondido, California and surrounding areas. This often means first helping them with food and shelter. We then move on to other services that will help them join the mainstream of society as self-reliant, resourceful, and contributing members of the community. Other services that we offer or will be offering include, but are not limited to:
Transportation
Access to affordable housing
Financial literacy training
Job skills training
Mentoring
English language and education support
Referrals to social service resources
In accordance with Christ’s teachings, we turn no one away. We embrace men, women, and children of all ages, social backgrounds, and ethnicities. We believe that all human beings are equal in the eyes of the Lord and that it is our responsibility to provide compassionate care to those who are struggling. Because we are results-focused and are non-discriminatory, we have inspired trust in the community and are forging important collaborations so that no need is left unmet. It is our hope that our work will inspire a culture that embraces all those who are struggling and that reaches out to them with compassionate support, tolerance, and inclusion.
