You help your child all day long.

With the boots. The big feelings. The things they’re still learning to do.

But when you need help, asking for it might feel a lot harder.

Reaching out gets you the support you need—and shows your child that asking for help is something we all need to do sometimes.

MYTH: Struggling with your mental health is unusual.

FACT: Nearly half of all Americans will experience a mental health condition at some point in their life.

It might feel like you're the only one struggling, but you aren't.

This is common. It’s human. And it’s exactly why open conversations matter. The more we talk about mental health, the easier it gets to ask for help when we need it.

This is nothing to face alone: ErieLAUNCH.org

This September, we’re talking about mental health openly and without shame.

Too many of us carry hard days quietly, worried about being judged or misunderstood.

But talking about it, even in small ways, helps us feel less alone. It helps us find the people and support who can help.

This month, we’ll share the real ways to start those conversations for yourself and with the people around you.

Let’s start talking: ErieLAUNCH.org

This month, we've talked about navigating change and giving ourselves permission to do it one step at a time.

Whether you were building new routines, asking for support, or simply reminding yourself that your well-being matters, every small step counts.

Because change isn't something you have to get perfect. It's something you move through one day, one routine, and one small choice at a time.

Starting in September, we'll continue the conversation by exploring how talking openly about mental health can reduce stigma, strengthen relationships, and help more people find support.

Watching your child start something new can bring up a lot of feelings.

You may feel excited to see them grow. You may also feel a little sad that they're becoming more independent. Both feelings are okay.

A little preparation, like visiting the new classroom or practicing the morning routine, can help both of you feel more ready.

A 2025 survey found that nearly half of adults say their morning routine plays a major role in how the rest of their day goes.

As you navigate change during seasonal transitions, your routine doesn't have to be complicated to make a difference. The same survey found people identified simple things like eating breakfast early, getting outside for fresh air, drinking enough water, or even just stretching as some of the top ways they boost their day.

You don't need to overhaul your whole routine. One or two small, consistent habits can help you feel more prepared as your schedule shifts this season.

Some weeks, the most important question isn't "what does everyone else need" — it's "how am I actually doing?"

This week's featured video speaks directly to that. One expert, Matthew Cruger, put it simply: when you take care of yourself, you're more refreshed and better prepared to handle whatever your kids are struggling with.

Taking care of yourself isn't separate from taking care of your family. It's part of what makes you able to show up for it.

Every stage of parenting brings new transitions — sometimes we're helping our children adjust, and sometimes we're the ones adjusting.

One mom joined our Infant Massage class hoping to support her baby. Along the way she found community, confidence, and connection for herself.

Being open to new experiences doesn't always change the season we're in, but it may help us discover support we didn't know we needed.

Project LAUNCH recognizes that supporting children through change starts with supporting the adults who care for them - and that includes teachers, childcare providers, and early childhood professionals!

As you welcome children back into your classroom, remember that support isn't just for families; it's for you, too!

If you're facing challenging behaviors, have questions about child development, or simply want another perspective, Project LAUNCH's Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) offers free consultation with local experts who are here to support you.

You don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes, having a co-pilot makes all the difference.

Learn more and request support by visiting our TAP webpage:

If this season has you wishing for people who understand what you're going through, the Motherhood Support Program at the Erie Family Center is a great place to start.

This free program connects moms with other mothers who are navigating many of the same changes. You'll build new skills, share experiences, and find encouragement in a supportive, judgment-free space. Childcare and transportation are available with registration.

You don't have to wait until things feel overwhelming. Sometimes, the best time to build your village is before you need it.
