Emma and Dan’s Walk Across Ohio
Day 2
Miles 12.2
Weather=Awful

We started off in windy cold weather that these parts are capable of in May. It’s not preferable walking weather so we decided to run!!
With Emma dressed in winter hat and coat we ran 10 miles at the start and finished walking the final 2.2 into and beyond Geneva on the Lake. I think Emma prefers running to walking, something to keep in mind. We ran through Ashtabula mostly and along Lake Erie.
Wider shoulders and Jane Brady crewing made up for the bad weather.

Emma and Dan’s Walk Across Ohio for
Gliding Stars of Erie.
Day 1
12.1 Miles

We are back and rolling along the shores of Lake Erie as we are trying to add Ohio to Emma’s long list of states conquered.
We have learned a lot from our previous walks and are now crafty veterans. Especially Emma who is front and center guiding us along route 531!
Right out of the gate we had our first roadside visitor. Joe Nies an Erie soccer parent who pulled over and said hello and walked a bit with us. Thanks Joe!
We covered 12.1 miles of narrow shoulders but with very friendly passerby’s who gave us a lot of room and an occasional honk.
We walked for just over three hours and will pick up tomorrow hoping to make it past Geneva on the Lake. We had a very unusual finishing point as selected by Jane Brady(not open though) as the picture shows.

Emma and Dan’s Walk Across Ohio

We will be starting our walk for Gliding Stars of Erie this Friday. We will be pushing off from the Ohio/Pa. border. We hope to finish Monday in Geneva on the Lake.
Please message us if you would like to walk with us.
Tentative push off times.
Friday 3pm
Saturday 11am
Sunday 1pm
Monday 10am
We typically walk about four hours but feel free to join us for a mile, a full day, or anything inbetween. We will be hugging Lake Erie as much as possible….as long as it’s safe for us. If you can’t join us follow our daily updates and stories here. The fun begins Friday!
We will then pick up at the location we finished on Monday in mid June and finish in Michigan. Call these early miles!!!

Thirty Two miles, 11 plus hours around the island of Manhattan!
We met and walked with lots of cool people along the way! Emma had a blast and was happy to be back on the road!
Next up for us is our walk across Ohio. Stay tuned for dates and more information.

Calling all friends, Behrend Soccer alums, and Ohio peeps! We will back at it in June walking across the state of Ohio from the PA. border to Michigan, a total of 188 miles. We will be walking for Gliding Stars of Erie. More on this great special needs skating program soon. We will announce specific dates in the near future. For sure Emma is pumped for this years adventure!!!
