Following a credible strike threat, more than 200 warehouse workers at United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI), represented by Teamsters Local 769, voted to ratify a lucrative five-year agreement.

Teamsters at the Pompano Beach UNFI facility in Florida will receive a 31 percent raise throughout the life of the agreement, access to Teamsters health care, and entry into the Teamsters Western Conference Pension Plan. Warehouse workers also won long-term job security, including just cause protections and strong grievance and arbitration procedures.

The Teamsters Union has successfully unionized more than 25 cannabis shops in Illinois with many winning transformative union contracts that ensure stability and prosperity for workers in the industry.

Cannabis workers at Dispensary 33 in Chicago are the latest Teamsters to ratify their first union contract with Teamsters Local 777.

Local 777 secured this agreement less than a year after workers overwhelmingly voting to become Teamsters.

“This was honestly one of the hardest and most fulfilling experiences I’ve ever gone through,” said Lyzette Soto, Local 777 member and award-winning budtender. “We are passionate and proud of the community we’ve created to guarantee better conditions in our workplace.”

More than 250 workers in the City of Palm Springs voted to join Teamsters Local 1932, marking a significant milestone for workers seeking a stronger voice in the workplace and better representation in negotiations with the city. The new Teamsters provide essential services that help keep Palm Springs running smoothly for residents and visitors alike.

“We care deeply about the work we do for the residents of Palm Springs,” said Kathy Simonette, a new Teamster in the City of Palm Springs. “We chose Teamsters because we want a stronger voice on the job and a union that will stand with us as we work to improve our workplaces and the services we provide to our community.”

Today, hundreds of striking Teamsters Local 332 nurses at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital and Teamsters members and leaders from Locals 299 and 337 held an informational picket outside Henry Ford's main hospital in Detroit. Teamsters are fighting tooth and nail to protect nurses from having their years of service erased by their greedy employer and will continue their unfair labor practice strike until Henry Ford ceases its unlawful bargaining tactics and agrees to honor their years of dedication and service to patients.
