FIRST: Last November, I joined five other members of Congress with military and intelligence backgrounds in a video reminding servicemembers of a basic constitutional principle — they don’t have to follow illegal orders. Trump called it “seditious behavior” and said it was “punishable by death.”

THEN: His Justice Department tried to get me indicted. I found out from a reporter, mid-vote, on the House floor. As my colleague Elissa Slotkin put it: “If things had gone a different way, we’d be preparing for arrest.”

NOW: A grand jury refused to indict me. They looked at the evidence and said no crime was committed because none was. But I still had to hire lawyers and spend months defending myself for stating a principle every servicemember already knows.

Let me repeat that: the President of the United States tried to have a sitting member of Congress criminally charged for reminding the military to follow the Constitution.

I told him then and I’ll tell him now: I will not be intimidated, and I will not be silenced.

But defending against this kind of attack isn’t free, and it won’t be the last one. Can you chip in right now to help me keep standing up to this administration?

SB 439, which the House committee amended in May 2026 would have made data centers a permitted use by right in commercial and industrial zones and prohibited municipalities from imposing requirements on them that are more restrictive than those applied to other permitted uses. However, legislation is pending that would prevent local areas from regulating data centers more rigidly than other enterprises and would also make data centers a permitted land use by right in industrial zones!
