In the United States, over 770,000 people were experiencing homelessness in 2024 the highest number ever recorded. Studies show that approximately 1 in 5 adults experiencing homelessness live with a serious mental illness.

Behind every statistic is a person. A neighbor. A friend. A family member.

Mental health challenges and housing instability often go hand in hand, creating a cycle that can be incredibly difficult to break. That's why Unity Homes wants to help provide safe, stable housing and support for adults facing mental health challenges right here in our rural community. This very vulnerable population deserves love and respect just like the rest of us!

Today, Unity Homes honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on sacrifice, courage, and the importance of community. As we work toward building safe and supportive mental health housing in our rural community, we are reminded how important it is to care for one another, lift each other up, and never forget those who made our freedoms possible.

From all of us at Unity Homes thank you to our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy every day.

Mental health is something very close to Amber’s heart, and through her firsthand experience in emergency services here in Wallowa County, she has seen just how important mental health support and safe housing truly are for our small rural community.

Amber understands the challenges our community faces and the difference that compassion, support, and resources can make in someone’s life. We are incredibly grateful to have her joining the Unity Homes team as we continue working toward bringing hope, stability, and support to those who need it most.

Unity Homes is inviting members of our community to participate in a short survey about local services and support systems.

We’re looking to better understand access to things like housing, senior services, foster care, youth programs, healthcare, and drug & alcohol support in our area.
