The Moooody Farm Animal Rescue

Pretty sure we got enough in today haven't tallied it up..m after we bring the one dog to get euthanized here we will be going to pick this boy up at county 🙏🙏🙏♥️🐮 he will be SAFE. If anyone will be interested in adopting, please reach out. We are told he is a great dog, calm and quiet right now in the shelter and super sweet! 🙏🙏♥️🐮

💔🐾 WE MAY BE CLOSED TO INTAKES… BUT WE WANT TO SAVE JUST ONE MORE LIFE! 🐾💔

🙏 OUR GOAL: RAISE $200 TO SAVE ONE DOG FROM BERRIEN COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL! Berrien County Sheriff's Office Animal Control 🙏

I know, I know… we've been screaming that our rescue is CLOSED to intakes due to lack of funding. And unfortunately, that has NOT changed. 😭

But how do we sit back and watch dogs lose their lives when we KNOW we have the space to save at least one more?

Berrien County Animal Control is FULL. 💔 And the heartbreaking reality is that euthanasias will have to take place if space cannot be made.

But before anyone starts pointing fingers, I want to make something VERY clear!

🚨 THIS IS NOT THE SHELTER'S FAULT! 🚨

The shelter did NOT create this crisis! The animal control officer did NOT create this crisis!

IRRESPONSIBLE PET OWNERS AND BREEDERS CREATED THIS CRISIS!

Every single dog sitting in that shelter is there because somewhere along the way, a human failed them. Whether they were dumped, abandoned, allowed to roam, or brought into this world by people who had no business breeding them.

And yet, somehow, when euthanasia happens, people want to blame the shelter or animal control officer.

NO! BLAME THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THESE DOGS IN THIS POSITION TO BEGIN WITH!

Let me explain something else that so many people seem to misunderstand.

🐾 ANIMAL CONTROL IS NOT A RESCUE! 🐾

Animal control has a JOB to do! When dogs are running loose, abandoned, or creating public safety concerns, animal control is responsible for responding.

They cannot simply stop doing their jobs because their shelter is full!

They cannot just tell the public, "Sorry, we're full, so we're not picking up any more dogs."

That's NOT how animal control works! And agencies that simply refuse to address these situations because they are full are contributing to another problem.

The officer at Berrien County is doing his JOB. Unfortunately, he is left dealing with a crisis created by irresponsible people, just like so many other animal control officers across this country.

💔 NOW, HERE IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💔

At The Moooody Farm Animal Rescue, we have decided that even though our intakes are closed, we want to TRY to save ONE DOG from Berrien County.

Just ONE.

But we cannot do it without financial help.

🐾 We need a $200 sponsorship before we can commit to pulling a dog!

Our veterinary costs have recently increased, which unfortunately means our adoption fees will likely have to increase as well. We already spend more on veterinary care than we collect in adoption fees for many of our dogs.

But if we can raise this $200 sponsorship, it will help cover the cost of getting this dog ready for adoption and hopefully allow us to keep its adoption fee at our current rate.

❤️ THE DOG WE ARE HOPING TO SAVE…

There is a beautiful Husky currently at Berrien County Animal Control that has caught our attention.

We are waiting to see whether this dog is reclaimed by its owner before its stray hold ends.

If the owner comes forward, WONDERFUL! That's exactly what we hope happens when a stray enters a shelter!

But if nobody comes forward, we would love to be the rescue that gives this Husky a second chance at life.

And if the Husky IS reclaimed?

WE WILL CHOOSE ANOTHER DOG TO SAVE! ❤️

Because this isn't about saving one particular breed or one particular dog.

It's about saving a LIFE.

🙏 CAN WE FIND ENOUGH PEOPLE TO HELP US RAISE JUST $200? 🙏

Even $5 helps. Ten people donating $20 would get us there. Twenty people donating $10 would do the same!

We have the kennels. We have the space. We have the willingness to do the work.

WHAT WE DON'T HAVE IS THE FUNDING. 😭

And that is the sad reality for so many small rescues right now.

We cannot save them all. We know that. We have accepted that heartbreaking truth.

But maybe, just maybe, we can save ONE MORE.

One more dog that gets to walk out of the shelter alive.

One more dog that gets a warm bed, a full belly, veterinary care, and a chance at a forever family.

One more dog that doesn't have to pay the ultimate price for human irresponsibility.

❤️ ONE DOG. ONE $200 SPONSORSHIP. ONE LIFE SAVED. ❤️

Please consider donating or sharing this post. We cannot reopen our intakes without sustainable funding, but with your help, we can at least make a difference for one dog today.

Because to the world, it may be just one dog. But to that dog, it's their entire world. 🐾❤️

We got hams mom!!!! She will be at the shelter but these will be euthanized tomorrow unfortunately. This is an enigma animal control dog... my rescue cannot and will not commit to this dog

Here is momma dog and daddy of Ham we keep trying. Im going to go get my trap and try to trap them and just sit here

🚨🐾 WE NEED YOUR HELP! A LARGE DOG TRAP IS A MUST-HAVE FOR OUR RESCUE! 🐾🚨

💰 FUNDRAISING GOAL: APPROXIMATELY $800–$1,000 💰 This will be an ongoing fundraiser til we get enough to buy one!! We will need this regardless!

We are asking our community to help us purchase something we desperately need — a LARGE, HEAVY-DUTY HUMANE DOG TRAP!

As many of you know, we currently have a VERY large dog roaming the streets of Enigma. This boy has been on the move for quite some time, and we are trying desperately to figure out how to get him safely contained.

Unfortunately, we have run into a BIG problem.

WE DON'T HAVE A TRAP BIG ENOUGH TO CATCH HIM! 😭

The traps we currently own are only suitable for small to medium-sized dogs. Our largest trap wouldn't even accommodate a big Labrador Retriever, much less a dog of this boy's size!

In our search to find someone who might have a trap large enough to borrow, we have discovered something concerning...

THERE ARE VERY FEW PEOPLE OR ORGANIZATIONS AROUND HERE WITH TRAPS BIG ENOUGH FOR GIANT DOGS!

And that is exactly why we NEED to purchase one!

🐕 Whether this trap arrives in time to help the big boy currently roaming our streets or ends up saving another dog down the road, it is an investment we absolutely need to make!

We have located a large, heavy-duty trap through a company that works with Tomahawk. Here is what we are looking at:

💲 Trap cost: Approximately $600

🚚 Freight shipping: Estimated $200 or MORE

💰 Total estimated cost: $800–$1,000

We are currently waiting for the company to get back to us with an exact shipping quote. Because of the size of this trap, it must be delivered by freight, which adds a significant expense.

Once ordered, we have been told it will take approximately TWO WEEKS to arrive!

That means we need to start raising the funds NOW!

❤️ WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?

Not every stray dog will walk up to a stranger. Not every frightened dog can be caught with a leash. Some dogs have been abandoned, traumatized, or have spent so much time surviving on their own that they simply will not allow humans close enough to help them.

For these dogs, a properly sized humane trap can mean the difference between continuing to roam dangerous roads and finally being brought to safety.

And when that dog weighs 60 pounds or more, your average dog trap simply isn't going to work!

We never want to find ourselves unable to help a dog simply because we don't have the proper equipment.

🐾 THIS IS NOT JUST FOR ONE DOG!

This is equipment that can serve our rescue and animal control efforts for YEARS to come. One purchase could potentially help us save countless large dogs in the future!

🙏 WE ARE ASKING FOR TWO THINGS!

❤️ DONATIONS! Whether you can spare $5, $10, $20, or more, every dollar gets us closer to purchasing this much-needed piece of equipment.

❤️ INFORMATION! If ANYONE knows where we can purchase a trap large enough for giant-breed dogs at a more affordable price, PLEASE reach out! We are absolutely willing to explore other options, provided the trap is safe, durable, and large enough for the dogs we need to catch.

We are a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue, and purchases like this are simply not possible without the support of our community.

We have the determination. We have the willingness to put in the work. We just need the equipment to get the job done!

Please consider donating or sharing this post. Even if we cannot get this trap in time for the boy currently roaming, we WILL need it for the next one.

🐾 HELP US GET THE EQUIPMENT WE NEED TO SAVE MORE LIVES! 🐾

HAM now a bottle feeding baby!! His one eye is also open now!!

10/15/2026

Thank you Wendy for your donation of dog food, blankets, and detergent for washer! We appreciate you!! 🙏

10/15/2026

Today marks the first day, Ham, has even made a noise... picture is of first day we got him after his flea bath... he hasnt still been able to suckle which is really odd! Another odd thing is, he didnt seem to be able to cry or make any type of noise... until today! Today is first day hes finally acting like a normal pup... eyes should be opening in the next few days too... im 💯 sure if he had been left out there he would have died like the other 3 or four...
He finally started to seem to suckle more again late last night. He drank almost a whole feeding... very odd... maybe he wasnt suckling on his mom really even though he seemed big and chunky... he was only a couple days old...
Either way hes doing great, and we will continue everything we are doing of course... hes just been the weirdest pup ive ever bottle raised. Cleft pallet pups cant suckle but he doesnt have one... never had a normal pup not take a bottle within first 24 hours... its like we had to strengthen his suckling ability....

10/15/2026

This poor boy has just been walking and traveling all over today. I feel horrible. We just cant do anything if it just keeps walking and traveling. Shame on anyone if they dumped this dog... which im sure he was. Today got multiple reports already been walking all over church st, crumley and walker st.
Thank you to everyone who has messaged and called since last night about him we appreciate you! This will help us narrow down a pattern. So far seems mornings and evenings hes being spotted roaming around.... maybe hes bedding down during day because of heat. We dont know. If we can find an area hes bedding down around... someone has mentioned they may have a trap big enough for him... hoping they reach out 🙏♥️🐮
