Remembering Ryan on what would have been his birthday... being reminded of him every time she flashes his mischievous smile!! It’s heartbreaking as a mom to know her pain of never having the opportunity to create memories to hold on to in his absence. Happy birthday in heaven, Ryan Barker. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss you here on earth- but thankful for those who have surrounded and supported us.❤️

Thank you to all of you who have stopped by the cemetery and dropped off a token in memory of Ryan. Maddie and the kids have enjoyed peeking into the jar, as have I!

Next month, it will be 5 years since we lost Ryan.. seems impossible. I am asking everyone that knew him to take a moment and stop by his headstone at Woodlawn Cemetery in National View. The kids and I will be placing 50 flags there as well as a jar to drop a coin or a token (even a pebble from the ground) or a patch- to hopefully show Madison how many people remember and think of her daddy. Please feel free to take a flag or place more flags in memory of him and when you do that, I am asking you to make an intention to do something good for someone who needs it... a neighbor kid who has no dad at home.. a spouse that deserves more attention.. your own child who needs a one-on-one at the ball field... a stranger who seems down on their luck. That is the kind of man Ryan Barker was. Keep his spirit alive. It would be really cool to load up those two spots with hundreds of flags and even better to make a difference in someone's life.... just like Ryan did. thank you ♥

I love this video... it reaches into my soul and heals me. To be able to live through love and loss is a powerful lesson of strength, gratitude and humility. To my children... you have been brave and strong. Thank you for being with me on this journey. I know without you, I wouldn't have made it here today... I am Happy. Humble. Grateful. I love you all more than you know. Tomorrow is a special day- a day to remember happy times, and to be grateful for every day you are given. To my friends and family, thank you for helping us and supporting us always. 6-7-08 was a special day for us. I can't believe it's been 5 years.

Today would have been Ryan's 30th birthday. Take a moment and do something kind for someone who doesn't ask for it... in memory of a kind man. Ryan Barker... the world was a better place with you in it. I miss you.. we all miss you terribly. I hope you are in a better place.
