Did you know?
Native pollinators are secret supporters of healthy streams and salmon.

In simple terms, when we plant native shrubs and wildflowers along stream banks, pollinators visit them for food. Those same insects become a critical food source when they fall into the water, where juvenile salmon and trout eat them.

This matters because our local salmon need abundant, high-protein food to grow strong before they head out to the ocean. By planting pollinator-friendly native species along our streams, we're feeding two parts of the ecosystem at once.

Good news, Chehalis River landowners!

Grays Harbor Conservation District has leftover native plants from their recent giveaway. These pollinator-friendly species are available to qualifying landowners along the Chehalis River corridor!

We have leftover Free Native Plants for Your Property

The Grays Harbor Conservation District has leftover free bare root and potted trees and shrubs for landowners interested in planting along rivers and creeks within the Chehalis River Watershed.

Planting native vegetation helps shade streams, reduce soil erosion, and provide woody material that supports diverse aquatic habitat.

If your property is along the Chehalis River or one of its tributaries, you may be eligible. Thank you for helping steward our local waterways.

Contact [email protected] to request plants

Plants are provided through the Chehalis Basin Strategy Aquatic Species Restoration Plan and are available while supplies last
