Mo(net) update! He has already adopted Mom as his person.

Mom wrote this morning that Mo is inspecting every nook and cranny, sniffing all there is to be inhaled, sitting on furniture and is slowly getting used to being in a home. He's never seen a ceiling fan or had dogs running on the floor above him.

No doubt, that our Mister Confidence will adjust quickly to this new life!

Maxie update! He's doing great! It's no surprise that he's made friends with the resident cats quickly and is a new source of entertainment for his parents!

Happy Caturday from Paisley, the petite calico in the room.

There are so many good things we can say about Paisley. She's got a quiet, unassuming purr-sonality and is not pushy. She gets along well with the other cats in the room and will enjoy group play.

Paisley loves interacting with wand toys, laser lights, nibbling one tiny treat from your fingers, getting a deep back massage and ear scritches.

We know how special Paisley is. We've been taking care of her for a few months now. She came to us with 5 tiny babies in a fluffy bed. Her last baby, Max, was adopted last week. It's Paisley's turn now.

Under the column of DID YOU KNOW?
*Calico is not a breed; it's a color.
*99.9% of calicos are female
*Approximately 1/10,000 are infertile males
*Calicos and Torties share the same gene. The difference is the amount of white on their coats; tri-color w/white = calico.
*Some think calicos are good luck symbols
** In the 1870s, calicos became the symbol of good fortune in Japan.
**In 2001, the state of Maryland named the calico as the state cat.

There's some fun trivia that'll never make you a dime or change your life!
However, adopting Paisley could bring you years of happiness and joy!

Happy Caturday from Monet who moved to Acworth yesterday!

We're going to miss our hall monitor, greeter of guests, show-off, chief entertainer among other attributes he possesses.

Mo was part of the HB family for a year. We found him at Gilmer County Animal Shelter when he was about 4 months old and has been with us since. He's only known Shelter life.

His parents understand about decompression and are taking things slowly before introducing him to his canine brothers. In the meantime, he has plenty of interactive toys, a new cat tree, a "cat wall" to jump from platform to platform.

Good luck, MoMo!

Look who is the weekly FRIDAY FURKID for Wayside Animal Hospital in Ellijay! Thank you, Wayside!

Friday FURKID:

If you love handsome guys who are always happy and all about having fun, you should meet Paskal, the 2-year old, 20 pound, low-rider who never meets a stranger; human or
canine. We discovered that Paskal is heartworm positive and has already finished the first part of his treatment. The worst, most painful part is coming up soon. We’d love to see him in
a home where he can get the rest and relaxation as he recovers from the 2 shots (one in each hip). It’d be great if you fall in love with those beautiful amber eyes and auburn coat and offer a furever home but at this time, a temporary foster home would be welcome too. We do offer a 30-day trial adoption too!

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue, Inc. is located in Blue Ridge, Gilmer Co., Georgia. We are a volunteer run organization that was established in 2000 and have successfully found forever homes for thousands of unwanted cats and dogs. We meet by appointment only. Our pets are up to date on vaccinations, monthly preventatives, spayed and neutered (unless otherwise disclosed due to illness or age).

All available pet bios can be found on our website: https://hbpr.org.
Click on the Adoption tab for available pets.
Click on Foster if interested in fostering. Click on Donation to make a difference in the lives of the animals in our care. Click on Volunteer to join us in our mission to find forever homes for

Our volunteer, Bill is definitely a cat magnet. The normally lap shy cats, Gage and Tabitha compete to sit on his lap. It's obvious that everyone enjoys this time!

Gage and Tabitha have been best friends for over 3 years. Yup! They've have made their home with us for that long.

Why? (You're asking yourselves....)
Because these 2 are the shy ones in the room. They're not the ones who are at the door to greet you. Nope. They're the ones on the perches watching you. However, approached in a quiet, respectful way, they are ready to accept ear scratches and belly rubs.

Give the shy ones a chance! The rewards are worth it!!
