Happy Caturday!! Everyday in the cattery at Homeward Bound is a happy day! Everyone is healthy, having fun; playing with toys, climbing cat towers, engaging with others during play or nap time and having the freedom to enjoy fresh air safely on the catio.

What's missing? Two words: forever homes!

Today, we're celebrating Tabitha and Gage. Both have recently turned 3 years old AND their 3-year anniversary at Homeward Bound. Yes! You've read that correctly! They've been with us since they were 5-6 weeks old.

Why are they still with us?? (Their siblings were adopted while they weren't chosen.) Luck of the draw? Maybe. How about because they're typically shy when new people reach out to touch them? (Could be.) Then there are times when potential adopters walked in the door and started petting both. (That was a hopeful sign but they weren't chosen; someone else was.)

We're still hopeful that someone will fall in love with these 2 and want to give them a forever and ever home.

Both enjoy interacting with people who have a wand toy with ribbons attached. Tabitha enjoys treats while perched on a cat condo. Gage will accept treats and eat them one by one as you hand them to him.

Stepping down off my soapbox now.

Tigerlilly had her girlie surgery yesterday. Since there isn't an isolation room available for her, she went home with a volunteer. There's no doubt that she's getting more rest here than she would have at the rescue.

Plus, she's getting used to household noises, steps, TV, etc. She'll going ready for her new home next week where she'll meet her new sister!

Monet knows how to change a catitude! Fresh catnip toys! Pick one and chew! What a way to start a day!

This fabulous boy wants to be everyone's buddy! This boy is long and lean, a tail that is as long as his body, playful, a treat monster, probably the smartest cat in the room, has been with us for about a year....can't explain it. He greets everyone who enters the room; strangers or friends. As soon as a cat carrier is brought into the room, he runs in and makes himself comfortable. I guess he's hoping the adopter will change their minds and take him.

If you have room for a cool cat, you should meet Monet. He gets along well with other cats. Sometimes he thinks he's the boss and can be a little much but the catitude is temporary.

Click on hbpr.org for adoption information for all of the Homeward Bound pets. We're located in Blue Ridge.
