With the funding from Confluence Rotary of Wenatchee, WA, we started construction of a building that will house a kitchen for the patients, that of the personnel and a guest room. Additional funds were received from Kelleher Motor Company. Thank you both for supporting our projects in Bawa!

The Sophie Awounkeu Community Health Centre of Bawa recently hosted for a month four students from the Foyangem Institute of Higher Education of Dschang, Cameroon. Of the four, two were physical therapy students, one nursing student and one student in medical laboratory sciences. The students were at the Centre for their community health training that has now ended. The trainees in their report have praised the Centre's staff for the skills acquired, the welcoming environment and others that made their stay in Bawa very memorable. Our collaboration with the Foyangem Institute of Higher Education started two years ago and we hope to continue. A Big Thank You to the clinic staff for passing on the knowledge and skills!

Soccer families,
We have dates for our annual fundraising soccer camp: June 29th to July 2nd, 2026. We are raising funds for our non-profit organization, Bawa Health Initiative. Your donations will support health projects in Cameroon that we have been conducting since 2005. These include among others our health clinic that was built, equipped, staffed and started operating since 2017. A quick note, before our health clinic, people in the area had to travel for about 13 miles for health care on foot or motorcycle for health care needs.
Our camp provides a great opportunity for kids to combine soccer skill building and community service.
Remember to sign up your kiddo(s) soon to secure a free camp t-shirt from ShirtWorks! Use the QR code on the flyer or the link below
