Hi Friends! I know you haven't heard from us in a while, but that's because we've been very busy getting all our ducks in a row... which brings me to some rather bad news...
We've been working with the Permit Coordinator at the Maryland DNR (Dept of Natural Resources) regarding all the permits and requirements we need to open on time. What I was not aware of was that, 1) she was retiring, and 2) she gave us information that was only half correct! This presents a HUGE problem for our licensing.
What this means, folks, is that we will not be permitted to open the doors of FairHill Rescue Rehabilitation & Release until late 2015... an entire year after we had anticipated opening our doors!
Yes, this is a setback... a disappointing setback... but it's something we have absolutely no control over. If we go against MD law as it's written, and we are caught, we can fined, shut down, and denied a license permanently. If that happens, we can't help any of the animals we are so dedicated to. It's just not worth the risk.
Knowing we have your support will make all the difference! Please send us a word of encouragement, and like this post. Having friends to lean on in disappointing times makes us want to keep going to get our door open!!!
Thank you, Friends
