Kimbo’s HR Complaint

🚨 OFFICIAL WORKPLACE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Kimbo would like everyone to know that first thing Tuesday morning, he will be filing a FORMAL complaint with management regarding repeated, unwanted 🍑 touching by the resident cat.

According to Kimbo, he has tried ignoring it. He has tried walking away. He has even deployed the highly effective “What the actual hell is wrong with you?” stare.

The cat remains unapologetic and has declined to comment. 😼

Kimbo is requesting: 🐾 A full HR investigation

🐾 Immediate enforcement of personal-space policies
🐾 A strict NO PAWS ON THE 🍑 rule
🐾 Compensation for emotional distress, preferably payable in treats

Management would like to remind everyone that “I’m a cat” is not a valid defense.

This workplace is getting more dysfunctional by the day. 😂

Have a safe, fun, and relaxing Labor Day weekend! 🇺🇸🐾

Enjoy the cookouts, the sunshine, the good food, and whatever kind of trouble you can get into responsibly. But please remember one thing:

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Call a friend. Get a ride. Hand over the keys. Sleep on somebody’s couch if you have to. There is absolutely no excuse for putting yourself or someone else in danger.

And remember who’s waiting for you at home. 🐾❤️

Your pets won’t understand why you didn’t come back.
They’ll just keep waiting for the sound of your car, your footsteps at the door, and the person they love most to walk back in.

Have fun. Be safe. Make it home.

# # 💔 THIS IS WHAT RESCUE REALLY FEELS LIKE. 💔

Kchumanesociety.org 🐾

Look at this picture.

Look at the woman sitting in the middle of it al, holding one dog close, while surrounded by the faces of **all the animals she cannot save.**

Look at the phones.

The messages.

The comments.

The opinions.

The pointing fingers.

The people demanding answers, questioning decisions and telling rescue workers what they *should* be doing.

And then look at the one person in the middle.

She is crying too.

Because behind every “NO, WE ARE FULL” is a person who desperately wishes the answer could be yes.

This is rescue.

It isn't just the happy adoption photos.
It isn't just wagging tails and “happy ever after.”
It isn't just the beautiful transformations people see on Facebook.

Sometimes rescue is sitting at a computer late at night, answering message after message about animals who need somewhere to go—while knowing you have nowhere left to

It's looking into a scared animal's eyes and knowing they deserve better, while knowing your shelter is already stretched beyond what it was ever designed to handle.

It's choosing which emergency you can respond to because you simply cannot physically save everyone.

Then going home thinking about the ones you couldn't.

That is the part people don't see.

At Kershaw County Humane Society, we don't stop caring because we're full.

We are full because we care.

Every dog.
Every cat.
Every puppy.
Every kitten.
Every injured, neglected, abandoned, frightened or forgotten animal that comes through our doors matters.

But love does not create another kennel.

Love doesn't magically create a foster home.

Love doesn't pay a veterinary bill.

Love certainly doesn't make the overwhelming number of animals needing help disappear.

Yet somehow, when we say **“we can't,”** people sometimes hear **“we don't care.”**

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Because the person saying *“we can't take this one”* may have already spent the entire day caring for dozens of animals.

Then she opens Facebook…

…and gets told she isn't doing enough.

**Please stop.**

Before you criticize a shelter, a rescue, a foster or an individual trying desperately to help, ask yourself:

# # # **What am I doing to help carry the weight?

Because this crisis does not belong to one shelter.

It does not belong to one rescue.

It does not belong to Animal Control.

It belongs to all of us.

One person can foster.

One can adopt.

One can transport.

One can volunteer.

One can donate $5.

One can donate food.

One can share a post.

One can network an animal.

One can simply choose kindness instead of criticism.

Sometimes another rescue can't take an animal—but they can help find the one that can.

THAT is how we save them.

Not by tearing each other apart.

Not by pointing fingers.

By working together.

KCHS will continue to show up.

We will continue to fight for the animals who have nobody else.

But we cannot do it alone.

So the next time you see a shelter worker sitting behind a computer, surrounded by messages, animals and impossible decisions…

Don't ask why they couldn't save one more.

Ask:

# # # What can I do to help?

Because while we're arguing about who should save them…

They are still waiting.

And they don't need another opinion.

They need **someone to step forward.** 💔🐾
