A “ three part“ winter storm is forecasted for southeastern Wisconsin through Monday evening.

Plan ahead now:
• Monitor trusted weather sources for updates.
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the storm.
• Ensure your vehicle has a winter emergency kit if travel is required.
• Stock essential supplies including food, water, medications, flashlights, and batteries.
• Check on neighbors, family members, and others who may need assistance.

Safety begins with preparation. Taking a few minutes now to prepare can help protect you and your family when conditions deteriorate.

Stay informed. Stay prepared. Stay safe.

With warmer weather on the way, it's time to start thinking about storms and the need that we have for volunteer storm spotters. In coordination with county emergency management directors across southern Wisconsin, we've lined up in-person storm spotter training sessions in each county. Please check back for updates as some details may change before the session occurs. Details can be found at: https://www.weather.gov/mkx/spotter-schedule

New this year! NWS offices from across the Great Lakes will team up to offer up multiple online storm spotter training sessions which will be almost exactly the same as the in person sessions in southern Wisconsin. More details to come with those sessions as they are scheduled.
