Our students are our future. We are overjoyed to see Hoosiers legislators that value public education

In 2025, the Indiana House and Senate passed SEA1 and created a statewide crisis for our constitutionally mandated public schools. *

Some of the bill's requirements will be phased in, so the crisis will worsen over the next few years unless we do something to fix it ASAP.

Public schools aren't just classrooms. They are the backbone of our communities.

💰 They are some of our communities' largest employers.

💪 Strong public schools attract families and businesses to our communities.

🏡 Property values are impacted by school quality.

🌟 Strong public schools = strong communities.

🌎 Public schools are able to offer the best choices for students' futures -- but only if we keep investing in them.

As your State Representative, I will fight for:

🌿 Kids to have classrooms that best serve their educational needs;

🌿 Teachers to be valued and paid what they are worth;

🌿 Actual accountability from any schools that take our tax dollars away from public schools; and

🌿 Our public schools to be fully funded rather than starved and attacked.

* Joanna King, current HD-49 Rep, voted for SEA1.
