We awarded Bernard of Elkader - his Quilt of Valor on Sunday January 3rd, 2021 in his home. He served 1956-1958 aboard the USS Fort Mandan LSD-21. Thank you for your service Bernard and Welcome Home! We hope you make good use of your QOV! Due to Covid restrictions - the awards ceremony was held in his home and the photo shows daughters (who wrapped the quilt around him) with his wife - Pat - in the middle. (Mona Benson pieced it and Linda Orr quilted it - both of Elkader. Thanks ladies for your work on Bernard's QOV!)

We received a nice Thank You card and donation of $250 from the daughter of one of Ed's Seabee friends (who served with him in Vietnam) and her boss. I made him and two others personalized QOV's and surprised them at a reunion with the other Seabees they were in Vietnam with. Truly a rewarding project that continues to pay back to help us in our mission.

9 Veterans received their Quilts of Valor today at the Fairgrounds in Manchester. It was a beautiful day for this event. Social distancing was observed and hugs were given by family members instead of our Veteran's Stitchers. Thanks to these veterans and a hardy Welcome Home!

We recently received a generous donation from the North East Iowa Vietnam Veterans Association. These funds help us make more quilts for our local veterans. Thank you ALL for helping us to complete our mission - one QOV at a time!. You guys rock!

3 of our members were honored to be part of a QOV award ceremony at W Clermont Lutheran Church this morning. 7 veterans received their QOV's of which our group were responsible for two of them. The other QOV Group were from Postville. Congrats to ALL and Welcome home!
